Electric issues?
Since I accidentally left my sunroof open since my car didn't alert me audio wise it was left open. It poured rain and my clock has gone blank, ac won't work and the front speakers are not working. I just changed one fuse, but this seems more complex.
Does anyone know if the wiring for all three component intersects at a particular intersection which may need replacing just so I can narrow down the location of the issue. I have seen online available wiring circuitry of rx350 but they seem speciality and don't recall show where the wiring would bundled together. Please if you have any thoughts let me know.
Since this post, OP(original poster) has added more info that he's been driving car like this so I'm guessing damage that is done is done.
This is info OP should've included in 1st post so we will give him a chance to tell us everything.

As someone who is an expert at machine diagnostics and also the wiring on our cars I would say this is outside the scope of forum help.
Only exception would be a lucky break, which happens sometimes.

In my opinion your electrical issues is best served by a tech who is on site to run thru tests in person.
Hard ones like this can in theory be done in the forum and I know because we have done it but it requires some things.

If you feel this is you, plz tell us the story on your car and introduce yourself.
Also need to know if you have factory Navigation and head unit.
Also, need to know the timeline with accuracy- from the day the sunroof was left open up to the next 3 days what stopped working. Your post is unclear if the stuff not working added up over 3 months or was instant.
Also, need to know EVERYTHING that is not working properly that may be related to the water thru sunroof issue.
Plz don't leave anything out like you did in your 1st post.

Agree 100%.

🤞 lucky
Hi sosala, I see this is your 1st post and thread so like to welcome you to Club Lexus!

Lexus 2006 rx350 working fine up until date of sunroof being left open.
Also need to know if you have factory Navigation and head unit.
Yes factory navigation and head unit are all operational (as usual).
Also, need to know the timeline with accuracy- from the day the sunroof was left open up to the next 3 days what stopped working. Your post is unclear if the stuff not working added up over 3 months or was instant.
The clock, ac and front speakers all simultaneously stopped working since the water damage date. I have been unbothered to repair it as auto electrician quotes are seeing this as a lengthy diagnostic and had no booking openings. Being a lazy electrical engineer, I figured I would come around to figuring it out myself. However I cannot find any diagrams of the electricals on this lexus to narrow the find.
Also, need to know EVERYTHING that is not working properly that may be related to the water thru sunroof issue.
I will try to be as detailed as possible as before the water damage (of sunroof) date everything was working fine. After the water damage incident only the clock, ac and front speakers stopped working. These components all simultaneously stopped working the day the water damage occured. been driving for 3 months despite those components not working with no issue.
First thing is I would suspect the Navigation unit.
I'd pull it and check the connectors on the back and if they look good I would open it up hoping to find some corrosion.
Corrosion can be cleaned with some rubbing alcohol, a tissue, and a tooth brush using laymans tools if it's not too bad aka recent.
I'd rule that out first.
Speakers can be affected by the Navigation unit because of the "turn-by-turn" voice feature but this applies to the driver side yweeter in the pillar if memory serves me correctly.
I wiould need to review schematics to know for sure so just going off the top of my head.
Before I spend an hour looking thru the schematics I will just say we don't yet know which front speakers are not working as posted above- the door speakers or the pillar speakers.
In either case there is communication betwen the Navigation unit and the Head unit(radio) so if you get lucky- it's just the Navigation Unit and not both.
Fastest way would be for someone with an oscilloscope or better, a logic analyzer, to capture the telegrams on the multi-plex data line going from the Navigation Unit to the Gatweay ECU.
Confirm the key presses for AC done in the tuchscreen Navigation is getting to where it needs to go.
Then of course, make sure the data is getting to the AC amplifier.
There could be an "intersection" where all the things listed not working join at a harness junction somewhere but I haven't looked yet cuz I don;t know yet WHICH front speakers aren't working- Pillar Speakers or Door Spealers or both.
If the head unit is "Mark Levinsen edition" this needs to be known cuz it may change things.
That's all I have on that for now but many apologies but I can't help click thru a diagnosis when it takes a week for a reply post.
It's no prblem, I realize people get busy with stuff so if this is the case, hiring it out to someone who can dig thru it in person is best.

Thank you for the teamwork and chiming in, more the merrier!
I like these videos you posted cuz he's pretty good and others will be able to find this when needed cuz the thread title is specific for electrical issues.
He takes a methodical approach step by step and that is what it takes, he does no guessing other than where to begin the diagnosis based on symptoms.
Just thoughts....
