yes you are absolutely right, and one of the solutions they arew working on is installing a bigger throttle body, we have a member here already in line for that, but I believe it will cause drivability to be less comfortable specially on low rpms, thats from my experience with pervious cars i owned and modified
Got ya. We wouldn't get that smooth throttle response, but will get that instant torque. I am also hoping the knock value limitation gives us that boost in power.
They did improve the throttle delay issue, but apparently there's also a restriction on the throttle opening which does modulate boost pressure. He didn't go into full details.
I think this all comes back to that "30% throttle" issue that was mentioned a while back. Toyota must of added this feature to create their torque curve.
Matt at OV is claiming to have removed the 30% limitation with his tune. I wonder if it's true?
PSI is set at +4 over tune. so im always at 20psi It does peak around 23psi under wot but it doesnt happen that often. i'll try to get a clip up today.
Oh wow! Do you have the data cable to adjust the settings? If so, perhaps try a lower setting like 2 psi. I have done several datalog runs for Terry with my BMS and down-pipe, and we found out that in some instances we got better results from +5 psi than +6 psi . http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35256

They did initially find that issue when tuning another member's (Mason) car. IS200TFOWL is the only member i know with the OV tune, but according to him, he expected more. I wish he could give us some actual dyno results.

in theory it can given that all limits are removed so that boost spike can mimic the same effects of an unrestricted throttle

How can I get my hands on the data cable and software?
The most promising results I've seen in this thread was Sheddy's tune he did on the dyno. When they leaned out the top end a bit. I still want to see the lower end richend up a bit.

These were actually my best results on the dyno and i had less modifications.

wasn't checking out the gear but i believe it was in 2nd
Proper power/boost testing should be done in 3rd gear and/or 4th gear 2nd gear is not a good idea since your test wont be be long enough to produce realistic results
