TT swap help
whats up guys. So I have found a tt mk4 motor with auto tranny harness and ECU for my IS300. Now I have gone back and forth from NA-T to swap and I found this opportunity that I dont want to pass up. With that said what will I need to know/expect putting this motor in my car? Am I going to run into anything additional as far as getting this thing to run? possibly new drive shaft and or rear end? Help would be awesome to someone who has swapped a GTE motor in the IS300.

the swap is not as easy as honda swaps. its really a big job.

ok, nice, most GTE motors you get from places are front sump too right? I know supraastores all are front sump, they told me for a few extra bucks they can get me a VVT-i one too which is what I want

front v rear sumps generally depends on the year of the motor and from which car. off the top of my head the i know the non-VVTI Aristo are rear sump and VVTI Aristo and +1998 Supras are front sump
the oil pans shouldnt deter you. the oil pans can be swapped over easily from a GE motor.
easiest swap into an IS is the VVTI Aristo motor

Yeah, but spending all the money to boost versus just buying a motor that is already set up to boost..... I personally would go with the swap. Granted both motors are nearly the same, and building a ge motor for boost would allow you to ensure your motor does start off with good rings ect. but I still just love the look of a GTE motor in the IS bay.
