1999 2jz w/ vvti into 1992 SC 300
I'm curious if any one has ever done this?
Is it possible to take the 2jz and put it into my car, and if possible, would I be able to use the vvti still?
Anything I should watch out for?
Any help/hints/tips/words of wisdom?
Then engine in my lexus blew, and I found a really good deal on this engine, so please help me.

I'm sure its doable...If you do it I'm actually curious to see how it goes.
The reason Atekt asked why though? Is for the hassle this would be. You will see negligable performance increases....
For the same cost, There are more exciting swaps available....And theres more support on the forums for them as well , since they are done more often.
You may be better off w/ an entire 99 clip to do it though, Or it could get pricey. As I suspect you may encounter multiple wiring , and compatability issues.
For instance, The 92 and 99 tach and guage display are not a straight swap.
Another being the gated shifter on the 99 transmission. You would need all those addtl parts too....... I'm not sure about the differential either?
-Good luck though

The reason why I am doing this is because, I have found the 99 engine for a very good price. Would it be possible for me to forget about VVTI and everything else, and just take everything I have from my old engine, and swap it onto this new engine?
I'm most worried about getting the car functional, as my DD is looking to take a **** in the next month or two. I need a back up car when the inevitable happens.
