Based on what I've heard the speakers I linked have a nice sweet sound. Infinity is way too harsh JL-Audio is kinda artificial sounding. But that's to my ears, of course the only way I can judge.

...also the sensitivity of the JL's is poor even for a 3.5" speaker.

.....the sensitivity of the JL's are the same as the stock/OEM speakers , that sensitivity is what the rest of the system was designed for (including the door speakers).... if one reads the entire thread , you will see this has been covered before.... Everyone has their own opinion.....

I am usually not a super patient person so I can't even believe myself when I read through all 300+ posts carefully in this thread. I got a really good picture of what to do in terms of the Fosi amp installation. However, my heart sunk when I read at least 3 people having the subwoofer "popping" issue when the car turns on and off. Did anyone go through the Fosi amp installation find a way to avoid the popping sound? It's the only thing that's stopping me from buying all the parts right this very second basically.

Thanks to everyone in advance again, unbelievable community here!

I used a remote control power device on mine. I think it helps. Often on my way to work in the morning I listen to AM talk/news radio so zero benefit in subwoofer, so I just never turn it on. But other times when I am listening to music and decide I need some additional oomph, I keep the remote under the charger tray and turn it on remotely. I rarely hear the pop this way, but often the radio is already playing so maybe its masked, or maybe its not as prone to popping when the car's 12V system has already been powered on previously. Not sure, but I like it. Also, others have mentioned getting the Woowwooowwooow sound from the sub right when the car turns on and the sub is turned up (I think people suggest it might be the ANC which my car has). Using the remote-on completely eliminated the Woowoowwoow sound for me.

Thank you so much for the workaround solution. Before you installed the remote on/off, how loud/noticeable would you say the "popping" sound is right when you turn on/off the car? I am pretty picky and little things/sounds could definitely annoy me, so I am just trying to gauge if this is a "deal breaker" for me. If anyone else can share their perspective on this popping sound would be awesome too!

Thanks in advance!

The Fosi amplifier is basically not a car amplifier, but this car deserves a normal mono 2 ohm amp without popping of which there are many on the market (under $100).

Good to know! Any recommendation that will still fit Atomic Lexus' installation steps and approach in general? I am ok spending a bit of money too if it will produce a good result. I have a gas model so I have to use the 12V outlet rather than the Hybrid Battery.

Btw, I am more than ok doing research myself once the parameters are set for the amp but since this is my first foray into this area, I am just a bit lost in terms of which amps that I am able to power by using the rear 12V outlet. What rating/specs should I look for when it comes to the amp so I know it's safe to use my 12V outlet along with the connector that the previous posters have all suggested.

Also, what is the ideal wattage of the mono amp should I be looking for to power our default Lexus sub and not potentially overload it?

Thanks again everyone!

My Pedestrian answer 10A looked it up in the manual,

The lighter's max 10 amperes outlet (in the case of a digital amplifier means 10Ax12VX0.8=100W) is consistent with the 50-100W load capacity of the factory subwoofer. Choose the possible smallest power (2 ohms) amp, because a strong amplifier can creates harmful resonances in the body in addition to destroying the sub - until the 10 amp fuse blows. If you put amp in a closed space it should be exclusively digital class, the A/B class can overheat. It is recommended to have a subsonic filter so that you don't plague the sub with unprocessable signals below ~30 Hz.

Replaced the stock center dash speaker with another JL Audio C2-350x and much more happy with the sound when using surround mode. An even volume level and better quality. Pulled out the Kicker 46HS10 from the cargo area and back to the stock subwoofer for now. Can't stand the womwomwom noise when first starting the car or (rarely) during quiet driving that is created by (I think) the ANC system conflicting with the new, more powerful sub.

Has anyone added foam rings to their aftermarket dash speakers to seal them against the plastic speaker cover trim pieces, like the stock speakers have? Will this make a difference?

Instead of the Fosi, consider the Taramps Bass 400. It accepts speaker level input and powers on automatically when it senses a signal (no pop).

Fairly easy to do if you have the Hybrid model as the 12v battery is in the back, but more of a challenge if the 12v battery is in the hood compartment. The issue is that you need a much larger diameter power wire than is furnished thru the 12v cigarette lighter receptacle wire in the back compartment.... the topic has been discussed w/in the 300 plus posts.... (I've installed the Taramps amp and so far is trouble free and gets the job done-NX350h...)

Either of these solutions should avoid the "popping"
