Extended Warranty

Has anyone purchased an extended warranty from Lexus? I'm looking for feedback from owners who have purchased their Lexus from a private party, still under factory warranty, ad decided to purchase an extended warranty from Lexus before their 4yr/50k bumper to bumper expired.

I thought this was possible. Please correct me if I'm mistaken.

I'm looking for pricing and hindsight comments. (This will be on my 2002 RX300 Coach FWD)

I purchased the extended warrenty when I bought the car. It is a little pricey but was worth it for me bc I had minor condesation in my headlights and some AC problems and it was replaced all for me under the extended warrenty.

I just had the motor replaced by Lexus as a result of sludge. And, the engine/powertrain is under standard factory warranty for 7yr/70k miles. I'm at 49k miles and plan to put about 10k miles per year. So, an extended warranty for the engine protection is not necessary. It should be covered.

What about prices? I'm guessing that $1,500 will get me a 3yr/100k mile bumper to bumper Lexus warranty? Correct?

can I buy an Exyended warrenty out of state?

looking to buy a Lexus Extended warrenty out of state( I am in California) does anyone know of any lexus dealer anywhere in the country will sell one at the "reasonable" price?
