Is it awd or rwd thing!? 10yr from first use?(04/08/08) My doors are so nasty! Thanks for any info guys.
Only thing i can point out is looks like only covers 2 door models not 4 door models.

Thanks for the reply!
Fingers crossed

The dealership called me and told me the parts are in. The guy said that they want to get the car in and out in one day so they insisted I drop the car off in the morning. So my question is, does the repair really only take a few hours? Every part in the recall was requested and apparently approved. It would be a pita for me to go to the dealer and back in the same day.

They did mine in one day with no issues. Make sure the glovebox is keyed to your existing key as mine was not and now I have no way to lock it. I actually need to follow up with the dealer to get that rectified.

They finished mine in one day but I informed them that I would be picking up the next-day...."not a problem at all".

I feel the dealer will work with you as long as your turnaround with picking up / returning the loaner is not excessive.

Also be certain you can open the trunk, as it appears the valet button in the glovebox, if not connected, doesn't allow the trunk to be opened with the key fob or the trunk release button on the left side of the dash. This happened to me, however, I caught it before leaving the dealership. I cannot recall if I tried the button on the trunk itself, but it definitely would not open either of the ways I mentioned.

Great advice gents. I guess I’ll add to the list to make sure the radio works too.

I got my car back from the ZLZ repairs. They did the door panels and dashboard, it seems. Fortunately, no issues to report so far. The radio, gps, and trunk work, and the glovebox door is keyed. Cool! Anyway, with my LS460 ownership esteem enhanced by a nice new dashboard and door panels, and a shocking lesson in how crappy new Lexus models are (2020 RX350 loaner), I want to know how to care for the interior. There are some fingerprint smudges on the dashboard where the installer touched it. Which interior cleaner is safe? I don’t want the dashboard getting shiny again! I have Griots interior cleaner, will that work safely or should I use something else? Thanks!

here’s the cleaner I have:

Yes! I had terrible problems and my drivers arm rest & door panel had a chunk come out of it. Dealer replaced all 4 door panels, dash, console, etc. that improved my interior appearance greatly. I have wear on drivers set leather and 2 small slits/tear in the perforated leather driver seat or the interior would be excellent. We lucked out on that recall. I’m in FL and had parked outside my garage for 2 yrs in summer heat, so thought I had caused it. I also have sticky problem with the trunk release but, now my trunk motor runs but won’t open - so I don’t use it. The key sometimes takes work to get it to close & I panic. I noticed trunk release above tag sticky before the dash & door panels. It takes about 3-6 wks to get the panels ordered, understand they ship from Japan. Mine was pre-COVID, last March

My dash and center console came within a week. The rest of the door panels, rear console and glove box/trim all took about 3 months to arrive. But, done within 1 day like everyone else. They must have the install down pat at this point. Very happy with the results.

When the dealer completes the replacement dash, etc under ZLZ do they document that it was done so it comes up on the Lexus Owners website under the VIN? I’m looking at a 2009 and it’s not listed as being done but the pictures of the interior online look really good.

Just had my 2011 LS460 sport done.
I may have got lucky. I wanted them replaced since I may keep the car long term. But have to admit my old ones dash, door panels, glove, armrest looked just as good as new.
I had applied last September. During covid so my have been just approving everything. From pics they sent in and in person you would not see any problems

I've been waiting for door panels for over a year and a half. I have to assume some of the time is due to Covid. Anyone else been on the waiting list for tan door panels this long?
