good so far.

Do remember my first contact and then replacement was within the 10 year in service date.

No idea if that made made a difference.

I just realized I've got an old friend that's running the service department at a local Lexus dealer. I'm going to talk to him see if he can do anything for me. Fingers crossed. You know what"they" say. It's Not what you know, it's who you know!

I did, read the words in the letter. It's the difference between just a door and glovebox, and the whole interior and who is determining what's going to be replaced. Thanks for getting me that info.

no, I don’t get it. If it’s exhibiting issues, you will get it replaced.

anyhow. Good luck, the replacements will make your interior feel new.

Soo, here's an update. I finally took the car in, took a min to get there with the world event happening around us. Anyway I called set appointment, an hour after I called, and went in for the look over. 30 mins later they told me the whole interior will be replaced. They ordered it and it will take months to come in. Can't wait for that new car smell. 👍

For those who recently got this ZLZ notice be prepared to wait - A LONG TIME. I received my letter in December 2018. The dealer determined in January 2019 that all interior parts needed replacement. Then the waiting game began. I was told by several Lexus employees (both at corporate and local) that the reason it takes so long is because the panels are ordered and made specifically for your VIN#. They do this instead of using available inventory. So I finally got my interior parts replaced in May 2020, one year and 5 months after qualifying for the warranty program. All that being said, they were always professional and courteous and the Techs did a great job.

Maybe the interior color(black for me) or some other feature affects the wait. I guess we will never know. I had the dealer evaluate my car 7/19 and all but one door panel and the panel on the rear of the console was replaced on 12/31/19. The remaining parts were installed 3/20. I was not expecting a new dash, console lid, or steering wheel center but received them as well. After reading that many owners had extremely lengthy wait times, I was very surprised that the dealer and Lexus were able to respond so expeditiously especially since I had very little contact with the dealer previously.

Did they replace the whole door panel? Or just the part with the soft touch material on the top. My cars dash is in pretty good shape, maybe slightly sticky in some areas and I may want to get this done while I still can over the next year. I was worried about the qualtity of the installation of the new dash pad since it seems like a involved process. Another thing is my fit and finish isnt the best on some parts with soft touch materials. For example near the parking brake the thin piece of soft touch sticks up a little bit. Think they would replace the dash due to that and it being slightly sticky?

On my car, they replaced the entire door panel for all doors. My dash did not show any signs of stickiness but to my surprise, they replaced it any way and informed me that the original pad might deteriorate later. They did an almost perfect job on each piece. Regarding the door panels, mine are not leather and thus, they were sticky on the top as well as the arm rest portion. When you request an evaluation from the dealer, you should point out any problem areas which you have noted, i.e., dash.
