Sticky/cracked interior panel customer support program notification - ZLZ
appointment setup for next Tuesday to replace the rear console and the glove box door.
good so far.
Do remember my first contact and then replacement was within the 10 year in service date.
No idea if that made made a difference.

I just realized I've got an old friend that's running the service department at a local Lexus dealer. I'm going to talk to him see if he can do anything for me. Fingers crossed. You know what"they" say. It's Not what you know, it's who you know!
did you not read the words in the letter? You are covered.
I did, read the words in the letter. It's the difference between just a door and glovebox, and the whole interior and who is determining what's going to be replaced. Thanks for getting me that info.

Soo, here's an update. I finally took the car in, took a min to get there with the world event happening around us. Anyway I called set appointment, an hour after I called, and went in for the look over. 30 mins later they told me the whole interior will be replaced. They ordered it and it will take months to come in. Can't wait for that new car smell. 👍

For those who recently got this ZLZ notice be prepared to wait - A LONG TIME. I received my letter in December 2018. The dealer determined in January 2019 that all interior parts needed replacement. Then the waiting game began. I was told by several Lexus employees (both at corporate and local) that the reason it takes so long is because the panels are ordered and made specifically for your VIN#. They do this instead of using available inventory. So I finally got my interior parts replaced in May 2020, one year and 5 months after qualifying for the warranty program. All that being said, they were always professional and courteous and the Techs did a great job.

Did they replace the whole door panel? Or just the part with the soft touch material on the top. My cars dash is in pretty good shape, maybe slightly sticky in some areas and I may want to get this done while I still can over the next year. I was worried about the qualtity of the installation of the new dash pad since it seems like a involved process. Another thing is my fit and finish isnt the best on some parts with soft touch materials. For example near the parking brake the thin piece of soft touch sticks up a little bit. Think they would replace the dash due to that and it being slightly sticky?
