I have a 2007 LS460 and the door panel arm rests are gummy. How do I get them replaced under the recall?

 

Contact your local dealership and see what they say...if they say no then contact corporate and hope you get someone that will help. I got all 4 of mine replaced and the glove box but seems like other members on here did not get as lucky. Its hit or miss unfortunately.

 

If you can get all 4 done by the dealer, find out if you can get them to order the leather door panels instead.

 

I think its a hit or miss as to what they will replace as well. As Robb noted above her got his door panels and arm rest replaced. I got my 4 door panels and dash replaced but they said no to the glove box. mine is a 2011 LS460L. I started with a call to corporate but they told me to go to dealer and have them inspect and then go from there. My dealer handled it all. Took just under a year to do.

Wondering how much you end up paying? Lexus provides the parts, then do you need to pay the labor and tax? Thanks,

 

I called the big local auto upholstery shop in town. He quoted me $350 per armrest. Said he had 2 - 08 LS460's coming in next week for the same problem.

 

I'd keep looking. The going rate is about $150 per armrest.

 

Maybe he has a working relationship with a local Lexus stealership.

 

I didnt pay anything for my 4 panels and glove box. They did it as good faith and covered 100%. I just reached out to my lady at Lexus of Tampa about the sides of the arm rest. If not I am happy with the 4 panels and glove box but let's see what happens. Mine took about a year for everything as well.

 

wow that's a very good deal for a 2010 LS460, which is not included in the warranty enhancement program..

 

Didn't pay anything either. Like I said, whole dash and 4 door panels. Keep pushing. Call corporate and your dealer manager if you have to.

 

please define gummy.. i am buying one tomorrow and need to know what to look out for.

 

 

if the armrest or dash looks dirty, then it has this issue..
