I am so excited for your part to arrive. This may be all over for us soon.

Sorry to disappoint you, bigsherv, I have not ordered anything yet until I confirm the correct part number (see post 43). Next time I'm near a dealership, I will pop in and confirm the part in person.

Hi Fto1,
Any updates? I have a feeling that the 2013 and 2014 are stuck with not having a trim piece in that location. It's debatable whether that alleviates the dripping trunk problem.

Probably not until October 22nd. I have an appointment that morning to flash the ECU to take care of a battery drain issue on 2013 models. While there I plan to confirm the part number for that trunk lid trim/molding.

Confirmed with the parts department in-person today. Ordered part 76821A for $26. Will arrive in two days.

On another note, I sat in the LS 500 and set the driver's seat for my comfort, then climbed into the backseat. There is definitely less legroom than a 460L. It still felt spacious to me but I could not cross my leg as easily in the LS 500 and was worried about the soles of my shoes contacting the seatback, whereas I didnt worry about it when sitting in the back of a 460L. The LS 500 does look better in person than in photos. However, I did mistaken a 2019 ES for the LS 500 at first (based on exterior).

^Nice!

Part # 76821A does not come up on Internet searches. Is there another part #?

That is interesting, Kuhan. I pay for it when I pick it up on Thursday. I will post what the invoice says, or the part number on the packaging, once I have it.

Thanks for the update, Fto1. I am very curious to see how that trim piece will attach to your trunk lid when there are no holes for mounting that piece with clips. You posted some nice videos showing that such a piece is not present in 2013 MY cars. Fingers crossed

There is a peculiar notation next to only that part you ordered (and a corresponding footnote). I wonder what that means...

Yours has the plastic trim, aw001?? On a 2014? Now that is really strange. Can you please share a photo?

Wow, my 2014 doesn’t have this trim piece

Maybe your car is a late build 2014. Mine was early build Nov 2013.

But your lid drips too! So what gives???
