I was looking up hydro dipping to get some interior pieces done to match the wood grain interior and this is what i stumbled across. Super weird looking not a fan but to each there own.

I did my Mondeo engine covers the traditional way. Painting engine bay plastics is bloody time consuming, especially when they're textured and have been covered in silicone garbage and engine oil vapour for 10 years

I was going to do that to my engine cover but not the whole thing. Was going to leave the middle part plain.

I would suggest to anyone who would put that on their engine, to weld the hood down in place after installation to save yourself from further embarrasment!!

This process actually does look good for doing carbon fiber replication. I've seen interior trim pieces that were dipped with the CF look and they came out looking fantastic. The wood grain, although looking like wood, is best left for the dash trim...

I mean, the engine bay is one thing but someone is doing their hubcaps... would like to see how those hold up.

Hydro dipping is an amazing process. My hydro dipped pieces are still holding up after 3 years !
