How do I fix a dashboard squeak?
The lower dash on my 02 squeaks, I think I've isolated the location to approx. the left lower dash - the coin holder region. I've tried to make it squeak myself when not moving, but I cannot seem to recreate the same kind of forces to duplicate it exactly. As the car is so quiet otherwise, it may cause me to pick up a drinking habit if I cannot fix it, it's driving me crazy.
Any tips on fixing dash squeaks? Thanks a million.

ive brought my gs back to lexus many time for a squeak in the dash and they took the dash out put extra foam by the speaker cover and i still get the squeak. sucks because its really annoying. I'd suggest seeing if you need to lubricate the spring behind the coin holder?
Can't be fixed, sorry. Trade in your LS for something like my 02 Dakota. My Dakota also has a dash squeak. But, since it doesn't have any more expensive noises from the engine or transmission, I welcome a little squeaking now-and-then. Given it's a Dakota with 92K miles and an unknown history, I know those more expensive noises are likely anytime.
Now, maybe someone can give you a meaningful answer to your question.

my dash squeaks too and the area by the nav, lexus wants to charge me shop time to check it out. I have the cert pre own but like all the other things I request to check, they want $$$ so I only bring it to them for warranty work and toyota for everything else.
Check out my post history for advice on dash squeaks, I've cured a bunch of mine. The worst offender was the nav surround panel, followed by the center air vent assembly. Basically any plastic-on-plastic that is snap-fit needs to be lubricated and/or isolated with felt pads or electrical tape.
