I have an SC300 that has yellowed headlight lenses. I was loath to remove the headlights and disassemble them. After trying various cleaners I gave up on them. However, I was cleaning my garage and found a spray bottle of FeronCLEAN patio furniture cleaner that I bought a few years ago. I thought “what the heck” and tried it. I was amazed how much yellow-brown material came off the lenses. The result was better than any other cleaner I have used – and I didn’t notice any harm done to the lenses. That being said, I suggest that you try a small corner first.
I bought mine at a local patio furniture store, but here's a link for the cleaner:
i took mines apart, wet sand, and only cleard up 50%
at night, with the lights on, i can still see a hint of yellow in mines.. =\
ill just buy new headlights later, they're cheap..
I color sanded and buffed mine, and found it made a profound difference. As long as your using 2000 grit, or maybe even 1500 dont be afraid to dig in, It will buff up super shiny. And your dead on about one thing, dont seperate the lights unless you have to. Cause Ive taken apart my headlights 3-4 times working on my HID projector conversion, and the lights definatly arent the same after they've been apart.
I just glued a set of headlights from an 87 Mack Semi truck on. I think it's sexy.
But actually, I used Meguiars scratch and swirl mark remover on my lenses. Prior to that, I took the whole housing apart and used everything I could get my hands on, including Zaino's plastic polish. It looked ok. Then a few months later I was polishing the nose of my car and went over the lenses with a buffer using the scratch and swirl mark remover. I was very impressed.
Wha ti si the best way to rid of the "foggy" residue on the HID headlight, on what appears to be on the inside of the lens. (or is this just mine)
