I've been trying to find a nice set of SD headlights and I'm not having much luck finding a set at a fair price. So, I'm now considering doing a retrofit so that I can get everything that I want in my headlights. My question is, can I do a retrofit with my stock halogen/non-HID housing or do I need to use a HID housing?
This is my preliminary build list. Please comment/critique...
you weren't able to work out the hID lights from clos430
For what it would take to buy those I realized I could do a pretty nice retrofit with my stock halogens, assuming they're OK to use... Haven't ruled them out completely tho.
You just need luxurymods brackets to be able to retrofit. You need them whether you have halogen or hid lights. I don't know if they make them for the fxr 3.0, contact them and ask. I bought them for my 1.0's a year ago. You also should search some, there is a diy on here that explains how to do it. It's also on luxurymods website.
Halogens won't be a problem, if you're using luxurymods brackets you just need to file down on of the holes for the clips that you remove from the factory bowls.
If you wanted sportdesign lights I did a Q45 retro where I painted the bezels graphite, it's real close to the SD finish.
