Default Disabling Auto-level headlights in GS400

Anyone know how to disable the auto-leveling for the GS300/GS400? I'm going HID retrofit and cannot find a reasonably priced HID set, so I'm forced to go with the halogen assembly, which does not have the auto-leveling feature. I need to find a way to disconnect so that the warning light doesn't go off. thanks!

wow, most people without autoleveling would give anything to have autoleveling.

Why not retro on your OEM HID Housings? Results will be cleaner since you can use the stock round cover in the back to seal out the water.

Here's my suggestion. If retro will take days and you dont want downtime.
Install the halogen housings (you're gonna have to find a way to tap a plug for 9006.
Retro your HID housing with the projectors.
Reinstall your retro'd housing
sell the halogen housing.

Yea I was thinking of doing that, but I dont really want to mess up the original if I do something wrong. I guess I can hook up a relay to the battery and find myself some 9006 bulbs, but then that's even more money which I dont want to spend

btw, does the auto-leveler work 100% of the time? How do I test if it's constantly working? You would think if it works 100% of the time, the motor in there must be stressed out by now.

it should be working 100% of the time.

To know if they are still working. You should see your lights level when you turn them on. Starts off low, and moves to the correct position depending on the height/angle of your car.

I ended up keeping the autoleveling setup. I found a set of HID headlghts as a donor so no need to disable anything. If you want to disable, you can just remove the lightbulb on the instrumental cluster. No harm in doing that
