Default CD Changer

I have a 92 Lexus sc300 and the CD changer seems to have in mind which CD-R's it wants to play and which ones that it dooesnt. It seems that it cant recognize the CD-R's. Do I have to get a new Changer in the back? Or is there something else I can do to play these CD-R's?

wrong forum...use the search button, but jus a quickie: yeah our cd changers dont like all cd-r's. For example i bought TDK's from memorex, which dint work, but when i bought cool color memorex cd's they work fine, i dont understand how the same brand wont work on the changer, but thats just its nature, the only thing i love is how our car has a 12cd changer stock, thats it.

Try using music CD-Rs instead of data ones -- you'll have better luck. It won't be perfect, but it'll be better.

You're lucky your CD changer even works

About your problem: maybe its a sign that the laser is soon going to need alignment. The CD-Rs have a thinner track, and the lser may not be recognizing it due to misalignment. This does not happen with normal CDs because they are made with a larger track size.
