Since the OEM Michelin PSS's are being phased out (run-flats), I wanted to see how you liked the new Michelin PSS5's? They're very new and don't have any reviews and I know they are the successor to the PS4S's. I had to get the Bridgestone OEM run-flats last round as the PSS's were backordered to hell and those tires are absolute garbage (maybe got 8k out of the rear vs 15k to 20k on the PSS's). Looking to make the move back to Michelin and looks like there's no run-flat option anymore.

^^^^The RFTs are not being phased out, they are gone as of the MY2024 LC. RFTs, however, are still available in the aftermarket from many brands including Michelin:

As far as tire characteristics are concerned, wear is one factor, but certainly not the only factor. Wear is way down on my list of criteria for a performance tire. Performance and Handling in the dry and the wet is at the top of my list. I have the PS4S in larger than stock sizes and on wider than stock wheels on my LC. My PS4S are XL (extra load) which means they have stiffer side walls than LS (standard load) tires and should handle cornering better. So far the PSS5 have only been released in the SL version. If I were buying tires today, and I just bought my last set a couple of months ago, I would stick with the PS4S XL.

Thanks. I'm just going by what my Lexus dealership told me when I talked to them today, and given the limited stock numbers (currently) plus the 4 month backordered experience I had last summer. He seemed convinced that the LC Michelin PSS OEM (the one you referenced) is being phased out, so I was just being proactive in finding my next tire. We'll see what the stock looks like when I replace them right before summer, and if low/backordered, I'll go for PS4S XL for the next round.

Though my car will never see snow or salt, I would like to be able to drive it on clear winter days when the temperature is below 40 F here in the NY area. My '24 LC has the stock 21in 10 spoke rims with Dunlop SportMaxx 060s. Given the dearth of A/S options in the stock size, it looks like I can upsize the fronts to 255/40R21 and keep the rears at 275/35R21 with no issues while yielding a few more options.

Sadly, it looks like the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S are not available in this size anymore (at least on TireRack)? Odd since others in this thread have gotten them. TireRack shows the Vredestein Quactrac Pro+ as a possible option. I've seen great reviews on Vredestein's other tires though this one seems too new to have many reviews. Any thoughts?

Not a lot of option for 21” winter tires.
Like you, I also would like to take the LC out when it’s not wet or salty but the summer tires would not work well below 40degrees.
I either going to get the 20” rims and put on Michellin X-Ice or put the car on trickle charger throughout the winter.

If you're willing to upsize slightly, Pirelli makes the P Zero Winter in 255/40R21 and 285/35R21, which will fit the factory wheels:

Appreciate that! I’m looking for an all season or all weather since swapping winter/summer tires isn’t in the cards.

This Vredestein is 3 peak snowflake rated which is a plus. I’m not looking to track the car so just looking for solid dry/wet performance and drivable in cold weather. Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4s would also work if available.

All season is no season for me. It’s either summer for the warmer climate or winter for the cold climate region.

Thanks Lou! if I upsize the rears, wouldn't 285/35/21 be the way to go? The others might be too big of a difference?

^^^^Dissregard my previous post - I read the chart wrong 285/40/21 is an incorrect size for the rear of an LC. it should be 275/35/21 or 285/35/21. The 285/35/21 not available in the PSAS4, but 275/35/21 is. Go with the 275

If you're looking for an all-season tire in 245/40R21 and 275/35R21 sizes, Michelin makes the Primacy Tour A/S:

^^^^I saw that, but that tire is a Grand Touring AS and IMHO, not suitable for the LC. The PSAS4 is UHP AS and, while not a Max Performance tire, is better suited to the LC.

personally would not hesitate to put a grand touring a/s on my LC if I lived somewhere that required separate winter and summer tires. I wouldn't be driving my LC hard in the winter on cold, wet, slippery roads anyways. A softer tire prioritizing ease of drive and comfort (especially when roads get gnarly after snowstorms/plows/temp cycles) would trump the need for a performance oriented tire for me in the winter time

TireRack doesn't automatically show me the Primacy A/S as an option when using OEM sizing or even the Pilot Sport A/S 4 when using an upsized front (255/40/21). In the case of the Primacy A/S, perhaps the "GOE Genesis" has something to do with it? Very odd why it wouldn't show up as an option for the LC when the size is apparently available.
