Exhaust tips
I tried this about a year ago - didnt like how there is no clearance of the tips to the rear diffuser as well as how unfinifshed the diffuser looked looked without the surround in place. I was also worried about removing the stiffnes the original surround added to that area. I went back to the original until I had time to address those 3 factors.
1- design a stiffer for replacing original surround
2- drop the rear exhaust hanger by 1/4 inch to provide a small bit of clearance of the tips to the diffuser
3- design and 3dprint something to cleanup where the surround was
if I ever pick this project back up I'll post the solutions - right now too many other priorities

The three "upper" stock chrome pieces are highlighted below.
The center piece of the diffuser appears to have been cut, you can see it there if you look closely. Seems they dremelled off the angled pieces where the mounting bolt for the exhaust chrome surround goes
Hmm true. I would love to remove all the chrome and gray trim on the car. Would prefer all the trim to match in gloss black. Wrapping would probably be cheapest option. I dont love the layout of the rear diffuser/chrome trim with the "fake" upper exhaust trim.
Agreed. I painted mine with plastidip luxury metal. Easier than wrapping and still removable.
The big chrome exhaust surrounds come out by taking out 4 screws on each housing, and you need to remove the covering first underneath as well. I posted the instructions for that part earlier in the thread.
I'm unsure about the long horizontal piece or the two small pieces that make the small rectangles. I did not remove these to plastidip, I just masked off the entire rear end of the car with a painters cloth I had lying around.

I know about the exhaust surrounds, thanks. I too dislike that long chrome piece running across the back, I'm sure it pops off, I'll just have to give it a good looking over. Probably paint it with some Spraymax 2K or vinyl wrap it.
I'm toying around with some basic, straight chrome extension tips that slip on and just peek out eeeeeeever so slightly... Very understated and just enough so that you can see the car has quad exhaust. (through the surround)
