Got the car back today. Drove a whole 2 miles to drop off for PPF. No CEL.

 

Are you doing ceramic and tint too? or just PPF? Sucks to get it back only to part again

Side note, did we ever determine which build date range was the issue? Or is it rando-ville?

 

^^ I am curious too, I have to find my built date on mine when I get home this evening.

 

Mine was built Nov 8th and no CEL yet (only 530km though)

 

I have to look at mine too. All I know is the order date and the factory it was built in.

 

Looks like the Order Date in the Lexus App is the same as the MFD date on the sticker: 12/21

No issues at 1400 miles so far.

 

@TipsyTonio knows a way it can be seen from the system history in the car. If it wasn't cleared during PDI.

 

Well had #66 Launch out of the garage today for 3 time since I bought her. 127 miles CEL went off. Called dealership and made appointment for next Wednesday.

I point blank told them what the problem is going to be. and how to fix it. I am curious to see how fast I get it back. I live 1hr and 15 minutes from the dealership. Got setup for a loaner. I just want it fixed and no damage to the car otherwise ( I had that happen at a dealership before).

I know these are great cars and I am glad I was able to get one. Thank you all for this forum because I was aware of this issue before it occurred and it sure helps knowing it isn’t something serious.

#66 today before CEL went off. Wanted to drive and enjoy the day before pollen got nasty. Guess it’s at least good I found out now to get the fix done.

***UPDATE***
I took the car in to Hendrick Lexus in Charlotte on 3/30/22 at 0730hrs. I had printed several posts from this thread to ensure they didn’t question what the issue was. Due to the rarity of the car the service manager was actually present when I was talking to the service rep. They told me that they had one other IS500 with the issue so far and may have the gaskets in stock. Sadly they only had one gasket but did overnight the a new pair and I picked up the car yesterday 3/31/22.

I have driven the car 50 miles so far with no issues. (Photos below) thanks again to all who contribute to this forum it was very helpful. They did note they found an exhaust leak.

@wthrman2 Take a look in the Vehicule Alert History, if it wasn't cleared during PDI, you'll have it in there

I have a 12/21 build date. Another member on here has a same build date, arrived on the same transport ship as mine and his CEL came on at 30 miles. I'm at 500+ miles and no CEL.

I summarize this as random...

 

UPDATE: got it back and has been running fine, but i am certain the dealership took my cooler, im not tracking car but i liked having it regardless. Im not sure what actions to take besides notify dealership and small claims court?

 

You should go back to the dealership and kick and scream as loud as you possibly can that they took your trans cooler until they install one on your car for free.

These cars don't come with transmission/oil coolers; the press cars had them but production models do not. Did you add one?
