Started up today to head into work and got the CEL for parking brake malfunction. Need to go in for my service anyways, but this is still a pain in the ***. Just about to hit 15k miles too

If you're curious, you could get the codes read. I had P2111 at about 13k miles. It ended up being a bad throttle body.
@Kanpai i had the same code as @arentz07 and ended up just unplugging throttle body and cleaning throttle body. code never came back after 3 months. worth a shot if your in a pinch or cant get to the dealer asap. i would still go to get it replaced if under warranty

Between my work schedule and life getting in the way, I'm just going to have to end up taking it in to the dealer Thursday.

I got this code last month and unfortunately for me a rodent had chewed through the cam position sensor wiring right at the connector on the valve cover. It seems that parking brake code is a catch-all for everything.

Turns out, I had the same issue! Dealership fixed it free of charge
Sooooo, guess it's my turn...Ugh! Thought I got a Check Engine Light pass when I made it to 10,000 miles with no issues. I informed the service department that this is likely a gasket issue, buuuuut they claimed they can only act on the results of the system scan which is as follows:
"Checked for codes and found P013A. Oxygen Sensor slow response rich to lean bank 1 sensor 2. No TSB for this code at this time. Cleared codes. Checked for exhaust leak. No leak found at this time. Road test vehicle. Could not duplicate issue. 02 sensors are in range. Monitors passed. Need to create TAS case and check vehicle again. Customer did not want to leave vehicle at this time. Will reschedule for diagnosis."
No Toyota Service Bulletin was surprising given this is clearly an issue with this model. At any rate, it's cleared for now, but I suspect I will need to return to the service center in the near future as the Check Engine Light may very well return. Will keep you posted...
UPDATE: Two years later, the issue has (thankfully) not recurred.

you guys tried bounce sheets? I had rodents or squirrels crapping on the engine covers, I bought some amazon ultrasonic rodents repellent thing, that didn't work, tried peppermint w/ water, and that sort of work but I put bounce sheets around the engine bay and it seems to keep them away

Interesting home remedy! If it saves your wires, it’s worth the hassle of removing them before the car is started.

It's the scent that keeps them away so you could tie a few using plastic ties here and there, no need to remove them before driving. I do that with my Jeep since I don't drive it that often; they chewed into my horn wiring. No more chewing since I added the dryer sheets!

In my case, I just put my underwear as a rodent repellant, actually that seems to repel a lot more than rodents but I digress! Could be that I use bounce sheets when I put my underwear in teh dryer (lol)
