Good news is one of the techs found some kind of Lexus bulletin describing the problem and the fix, so the next appt should be straightforward.

One of them even commented that they've already had 3 of these with the same code already.

@hotct

Would be great if they gave you the LSB# or copy in PDF

I got my car back today 3/18 I dropped it off at my local Lexus dealer on 3/15. Here is my RO they replaced 2 Gaskets under warranty. Overall I am very satisfied with Lexus warranty & loaner process. This was a very quick fix because I was expecting them to keep the car for a while. I also enjoyed the NX loaner they gave me.

I'm wondering how I can request that they do this repair and replace my gaskets, since all they did was re-torque my exhaust and Joe Z (or someone) said the gaskets are a one-time-use. I was going to mention this in my first service and explain what happened in New Mexico (its in my service records) but I'm wondering if I have any legs to stand on since my CEL is not actually on and the problem is "fixed". Thoughts?

If they solved the leak you are good in my opinion..!!

If it ever comes back now you know what to ask for..

Got my gasket replaced today. The CEL wasn't much of a problem anyways; probably gone 500 km without it coming back.

Yep, that's what the techs showed me when I dropped mine off. Dropped it off last Tuesday for the second time after I tried dropping it off the Saturday before but was turned away after I cleared my CEL. Haven't heard back yet, guess they didn't preorder the gaskets even though they knew what the problem was.

Got a CEL at 51 miles on the clock this morning. Was on my way to PPF install, but ended up dropping it off at the dealer.

Vehicle alert said it was for two things. (1) a warning of a malfunction with the engine, throttle, or transmission, and (2) the parking brake.

Yep, those are the alerts we get for the exhaust gasket leak. I think the one just means there's a CEL, then the other is the disabling of some systems due to the CEL

CEL just saved you $2000. Lol.

I'm 99% sure I've decided against PPF now. Just doesn't make financial sense for what I want out of it.

Dealer let me know it is the exhaust leak. They said I should have the car back by tomorrow afternoon.

I'm getting PPF on just the front half because I will log a lot of highway miles in Texas, and there are tons of rocks, sand, and dirt on the roads here.
