I did not add one but I am certain I had one as I thought briefly to myself while walking towards my car to leave work that I didn’t like how plain sight it was but wasn’t going to remount anywhere. Then CEL fix a week later returned without.

 

Unless they sold you a press car, these cars truthfully do not come with them. All the other current owners can verify.

I think those press cars racked up much more than 18 miles. I am not sure what was there but none of us have that cooler off the line. Did you take any pictures of your car that might show that part when you got it?

 

^^ I think I saw on the FB group a member was sold a press car but it was a non-LE. Check your bluetooth history if any previous ppl connected their phones.

 

It wasn't a press car on FB, but a fleet car that was used in some kind of tournament or something similar before being at the dealer.

Hmmm the plot thickens. I'm not saying I don't believe you, but what IssaV8 said is also true. This is why I think you should go back there and complain and see what they say. My guess is that they won't know themselves whether or not only press cars had the trans coolers, whether or not your car was a press car, and whether or not production cars are supposed to have trans coolers. A lot of these dealerships are absolutely clueless when it comes to the IS500 because it's so new and there are so few of them. Then it's your word against theirs whether a service tech took it, and so if you complain enough, they mighhtttt just oblige to install one for you. And you can sleep at night in good conscience that you did nothing wrong because you truly believe your car had it. That would be a win. Let us know how it goes.

 

Didn't the press cars not have a sunroof or electronic tilt/telescoping steering wheel adjustments? But then again I think Canada also don't get sunroofs? Are you in US or CA?

Asleeper - I am not trying to undermine your credibility and I think it is simply a situation where you thought you had one, but there has been no production cars with the trans cooler as IssaV8 indicated. The fact you confirmed you never installed one yourself, and that you bought the car with 18 miles (which is basically a new car), you wouldn't have had the trans cooler on your car. Was this an April 1 fool's joke?

 

My thing is... why would they go through the trouble to remove the trans cooler?

Hopefully it was just a Berenstain Bears moment and the trans cooler was never there.

Even if you personally don't have a photo, sometimes dealership listing photos will linger on the internet for a little while.
