they were nothing short of respectful. I never insulted them for the adm. I affirmed that someone would pay for it and I understood if they wanted to save it to make max profit. I think mostly bc I wasn’t a jerk and I was honest about my intentions made them more flexible.

Yes, the part was ordered quite quickly, either before the O2 was replaced or just after, certainly before the CEL returned. I'm pretty sure I said this at some point in this thread.

No problem, I'm still waiting for the gaskets to arrive since they're on their way from Japan.

I know I have been going back and forth but this is a big purchase and I don't want to deal with these issues, and the fact that Lexus has not initiated any official repair and will allow people to buy the car and then deal with the inconvenience where they know there is an issue, then I'll just pass. I don't need it that badly
I actually think this is a prudent move. The IS we know will at least be produced until 2024 giving them plenty of time to fix it and maybe reinvigorate your interest. Who knows based on how Lexus/Toyota are each year you wait may also have added features. Just look how each year the supra had something new. Maybe even a black edition or something to send it off. Who knows. As for me I'm too emotional involved at this point and want the damn thing now. But I support your decision.

^^ I appreciate that. That being said, if I pass this year, I will be keeping my 350 indefinitely as I want to have my lexus before I retire in 4 years if waiting 1 year is a year of lease money I will be throwing out so if I keep the 350 this year, it will be the car for my retirement toy.

I also wanna tell the folks here i will be taking a bit of a break from the forum as I have a few issues that I wanna deal with and such. I will eventually be back but for the next little while, I'll absent...

Enjoy your cars folks and ANSWER can update you if I go through it or not...

Cheers for a while...

I think people are dreaming if they're expecting a send off edition for an already limited run send off car.

122km so far and no CEL! lol!
Wanted to take a look at the gaskets while installing my tires, but was too in a hurry to go drive it so I did not. But that's still something I wanna take a lot at!

Haha, true enough. I wouldn't expect a send off edition, but Lexus/Toyota is known for making small changes on their cars in subsequent model years. And it would be really cool if they did do a send off for the send off. (But probably unrealistic)

In theory this may work if the car is still brand new and the gaskets didn’t fully cook in yet…

The OEM crush gaskets are intended to be one time use.. Soo if they are over torqued they will be crushed further creating a leak since they will not seal or seat well during heat cycles of expansion / contraction.

Formally Lexus has not issued the LSB, the new IS 500 owners have been waiting for..

Once they start leaking, a new pair are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to solve the leak & CEL for P013A

2 of the 90917-06070 GASKETS used & leaking.

Exhibit A - areas where the leak occur

Sorry to see you go buddy, but I totally understand! I think we all should give each other the space needed to kick a trash can or two when needed.

Doesn’t always have to make sense. 😉

Hit 1010 miles today and taking the car in for an oil change tomorrow.

Side note, (as some of you know) Carvana bought my 350 this morning.
