I typically shift around 3250rpm (if any less I experience jerks), the car has 3200 miles and I usually go around town 55-60 at 6th. I am not going to lie, I do red line or get close to it a couple times every trip. But my point is, the car has 204 horses and it SHOULD get around 20+ city. Compared to other cars in the same class (A4 20 city) or MT cars that has much more hp (350z, 18mpg city or IS350), the 250 MT seems not too efficient Could the 250 be running too rich? Any way to reduce the fuel injection?

I really want to know too. I was planning on buying the is250 with 6spd manual but decided to buy the is350 which pretty much has the same EPA ratings. I get around 19-20 mpg, 95% spirited city driving.

You seriously wonder why you get bad fuel efficiency?

i think with all the sophisticated technology in our cars, the computer can optimize fuel efficiency better in an auto than a human can in a manual. i noticed the same thing in the tsx too...

Hmm, I do 10.1L/100km or 23.26 mpg here in Van all city driving. It's quite hilly tho. I shift at around 3000rpm 1st gear & 2nd gear then pop it in 6 to cruise.

sounds like the 18mpg in the city is incorrect, so far it sounds like 21-23mpg is the norm if you drive it normally. So far the 18mpg EPA rating in the city for the is350 is pretty accurate or close to it under normal conditions. I average 18-19.5 mpg under all city driving. If this is the case, I would of bought the is250 6 spd manual. Oh well, now I'm stuck with an extra 102 horsepower
