2IS MPG Threads (MERGED master thread)
Wow...I'm surprised there isn't that much of a difference between the 250 and the 350. I'm averaging 26.6 over the last 9,000 miles or so in my 350 and do a 70/30 highway/surface.
I'm surprised the 250's are barely touching 30 driving the same kind of roads.
So much for the "I bought the 250 to save gas mileage" theory. What is that, like $150 a year?

Each time I fill up I write on the receipt my odometer reading and my tripometer reading which I reset every time I fill up. Then I later input those values into an excel spreadsheet that does two things for me, it divides the number of miles driven on that tank of gas by the gallons of gas I just put in for that fill up and it takes all those miles per gallon values and averages them. From that I get a number that is always lower than what the average miles per tank tells me in the dash display.
So where are you guys getting your numbers from, especially you 350 owners. Have you tried calculating it out yourselves or are you just reading it off that display. Personally I am not convinced that dash calculation is correct...

For you 350 owners, I have a HARD time believing that your Lifetime avg is >23 mpg ?!? I'm thinking that the meter has been reset at least once since taking delivery, or maybe you are talking about the Tank avg. I've never reset my Lifetime avg, it's at 22.0 and I've got apprx 13k on the clock of 75/25 SoCal freeway/city driving . . . (btw my actual calculated mileage is 22.5)
