2IS MPG Threads (MERGED master thread)
Thanks for the replies guys. I'm in a tough spot...I like the IS but I want the power and the 350 puts me into the range of the 3.2 Quattro A4, and 335i.
Is there a point in time which you sometimes wish you went with a 350 for a bit more power? One thing I hate is having to wind a motor out to get going. Kind of defeats the purpose of a small motor for mileage.

I assume that's mostly high driving right? Getting 26-29ish, I have the AWD which shouldn't have a big impact on MPG. But will never get that mpg you guys listed
Edit: 204 horse is more than you need in NY...

and too the other replys of course at times i wished i opted for a 350, and of course its great to have more power, but i could use cost difference on other things. is250 is very practical for me. with gas prices over $3.50 a gallon. but otherwise the power is sufficient.

I do 140mi round trip, granted I have the AWD model 2IS, I still get about 30mpg. There are many threads about ppl wanting more power, but if ur commuting that much, its gonna cost u a lot in gas $$$. just IMO.
If there aren't any traffic on the freeway then you can achieve 26+ easily, I am sure there aren't much difference between MT and AWD in term of mpg. My life time mpg is about 19.6 which isn't really that bad because I do lotta local driving. I drove about 70 miles from Brooklyn (BQE to LIU exit 72) and I hit up to 35mpg on my guauge without stopping (reset trip setting when I was near BQE).
400+ holy smokes .. i get 350miles on a good tank more or less....are they mostly freeway miles? cause i commute from san mateo to san francisco 5 x a week. whats your driving pattern? at what rpm do you shift at ? i get around 24mpg

(mostely freeway)
I shift @3000-3500....
I think 204HP is good enough for a commuter car.....
Will post a pic later this week when I get the fill-up. The computer says I got 418 miles for a whole tank......
