I attempted the fix and also added some insulation inside the plastic tray from underneath the knee airbags. This seem to take alot of the rattles away.
The other noise is the sunroof and I believe there is a TSB or something to fix that. Only while the sunroof is popped up and driving does it rattle. I'll let you all know what they do to remedy the noises.
I believe some of the sunroofs were warped, if you're able, let us know whether they replaced the housing or the entire roof.
I am occasionally getting the vent rattles but the one that really irks me is the moonroof. It sounds like the seal that was used is too small and is constantly rubbing. However if I close the shade most of the noise goes away. The 5k service is probably a few months away so I might as well hold out and have the dealer address whatever other noises that will probably arise in that time. I am severly dissapointed with the noises in the interior, my Acura RSX didn't develop ANY interior squeaks or rattles for the first 86,000 miles (4+yrs).

I still have my car at the dealership and while it was in there it got a new noise. I went in to pick up my car yesterday for the sunroof noise and the left side instrument cluster rattle only to find that now my drivers seat has a squeak. I asked them what they did to fix the noise from the instrument cluster area and they didn't seem to want to tell me and also the sunroof still made the noise. Apparently the sunroof makes noise dependent on speed and not bumpy roads, which is weird.
I got another loaner a RX400H that I absolutely love! They told me my car is ready and all the noises have been fixed, but i'm holding off on going to pick up the car until after work today. I want a few more hours of driving in the RX first. The hybrid system in that puppy is amazing. For instance we have a 4 story parking garage at my work and I usually park on the 3 floor away from others. To my surprise the RX400H drove up all the levels on electric power only! This was right after I drove it from home to work (4 miles) and was able to keep it in electric only for at least 75% of the trip. Not only is this thing really green, but it's quick too. It is definitely quicker than my gf's 1.8t Jetta and the CVT tranny is quite impressive as well. Nice job on that car Lexus!
PS. The RX has no rattles and it's a beaten loaner, so go figure. I guess the IS is just more prone to rattles since it's got a firmer suspension than the rest of the Lexus lineup.
I went on Infiniti's tech support site and their are has the same sunroof issues. There TSB advised to use 3M Silicone Lubricant Plus on the seals and the gaps between vents. I ordered one today and try it as soon as I get it.
Ok, I had 3 noises that bothered me in the IS350 and they all seem to be fixed.

Well, I have to resurrect this thread because my 2007 IS350 that previous had ZERO rattles now has the infamous center speaker (nav) rattle! However, I am positive it is the center speaker grill because if I push down on the center speaker grill the rattle completely goes away...
I am going to take the vents and grill off today and add foam... Just wanted to post this update that even on the 2007, the issue is not fixed 100%...
However, my car does have an aftermarket subwoofer so maybe all the bass loosened things up
Dang, I dont have an aftermarket sub, and my Center Dash area is rattling like crazy. Sorry to ressurect this thread. BUT i have to take my car in for service. What specifically is being done to the car when they do the fix?
"IF" I had some extra wires behind my console leading to switches above the Gas/Trunk buttons.....Do you think they will notice these Extra wires Behind the center console?
Should i just forgo the service and put this foam in? Also where can I get this tubing that goes between the window and the dash?
I just got my '08 250 back yesterday from the dealership. It was in for the 1000 mile "service", a new rim, and... a gnarly driver's side dash rattle. Fortunately I was able to trace the noise to the seam right above the dash dimmer **** to the left of the steering column. If I pushed on the material just above the **** I could duplicate it for the service tech at the dealership. It still took two attempts to fix but since yesterday, so far so good. Now I have a driver's side b-pillar rattle that's getting to me. I have to be honest I'm a little disappointed that a Lexus with barely 1000 miles on it is rattling more than my 15 year old Toyota pickup truck.
On another note, the dealership loaned me an IS 350 with the F-sport package. Sh@# that this is fast! Getting back into my stock IS 250 was a bit of a shock.
