While the backup camera is pretty slick, It still doesn't help you see how close you are when you are pulling up next to a curb. I noticed on my son's BMW 325, that the passenger side mirror tilts down about 20 degrees any time the car is put into reverse. Makes it a lot easier to park the car with less chance of getting curb rash. Any one know if this can be programmed in personalized settings for the IS?
Place your mirror adjuster switch into either "R" or "L" and the mirrors should automatically go down when you shift into reverse..
Although, I got a thorough overview of the car at the dealer, this wasn't mentioned. I guess I fortuitously left my switch on R or L (usually I leave it neutral) because I did notice my mirrors would tilt down in reverse.
Along with Xenons, the tilt down mirrors would be one of the few worthwhile features in the luxury package--especially since the wood trim and ventilated seats come standard in the AWD--I have no need for power tilt and telescope (although I suppose it's helpful if you also have trouble tying your own shoelaces), rain sensing wipers (seems gimmicky), and memory settings -not too useful since I'm driving the car 99% of the time.
Anyway, thanks--now I know that it is available, but not on my car. I almost bet there is a hack to enable this feature.

Yeah, my dealer probably didn't know about this. I had found it about a month ago. The sun screen is good too. I bet there is features I havn't even found yet . This car is so fun to drive!

I actually find the rain sensing wipers quite usefull. No need for me to consistantly adjust my delay speed like I did in my old car, just turn it to auto and let it do the work for me.
