Hey all, So i changed the oil in my '00 IS200 gearbox, used (i believe it was "febi 75w - 90 4g") so that its up to the filling port, read that youre supposed to fill it just enough to be at the filling port, and ever since i've had this occasional whistling coming from i assume its my gearbox.
Later i read that you were supposed to change through all the gears before driving after the oilchange, did not do that.
one of my friends thought it was over or under filled but again, just filled it up to the port.

The whistling only appears for a few seconds, sometimes a bit longer after having the car sat not running for a while. had it show up today for a bit longer and it would start whistling the same way whenever i pushed the clutch down but again, eventually it stopped doing that again.

left my phone recording on the dashboard one morning and saved a short recording of it:

Anyone have any suggestions on what might be causing this and or if its hurting the car in any way?

Sounds like a bearing going bad. Does it still do it if you take it out of gear while moving?

Okay, May be the driveshaft or diff. Do you know anyone with a lift. You could put it in gear in the air any narrow it down.

Do have a lift in my garage but its in use right now, dont know how long for.

And do you mean just lift it up and "drive" it a bit?

Yes, have someone drive it while on the lift. Then get under it and listen for the noise. To narrow down where it is.
