I’ve been on the interest list since August and still waiting. Local dealer doesn’t do orders and contacts only when there’s allocation that matches request. So far no match. If there’s a match then must agree to pay $5k markup and they also add alarm and ceramic paint protect for $2k+.

Got a call Friday about a grey car (my pref is white or silver) that is being built and due to arrive end of Jan and that otherwise matched my specs and passed on it. That car was going to be $65k+ out the door ($55k msrp + $5k markup + $2k protect & alarm + approx $5k TTL).

Sales guy says supply is getting worse, not improving.

Are you all getting or waiting for Premiums or Luxury (or the Canadian equivalents)? It may help if folks say which they are working with - it seems Lexus builds Premiums over Luxury at about 8/1. I'm waiting for a Luxury and I'm setting in for the long haul as dealers around here only seem to get 1-2 per month.

We probably need a poll to capture that.

But definitely premium and even base have much more availability, but desirable colors (like anything with palomino) are sold with markup before they hit the lot.

I submitted a deposit for my 350h at the end of December 21 and received my car at the end of July 22. This amount of wait time seemed typical at the time. They estimated that it would take 6 months to get my car. My car is Atomic Silver with black leather, luxury package. Worth the wait!

My dealer says Lexus is not accepting orders for the NX 350h. The way it works is they get allocations from Lexus and then buyers commit to the cars on the allocation list. A deposit is taken at that time. The car is now yours. It’s then a waiting game until arrival at the dealer. That makes sense given how crazy this buying system is working at present.

Matches what Roseville dealer, Serramonte dealer, and Reno dealer told me except that Reno dealer took a deposit in anticipation that ordering will open up, but for now I’m just on their list. With all dealers they just match what is coming to requests on the list first come first serve. I think my best chance is with Roseville because they have the highest markup at $5k. Reno has a huge waiting list because they don’t charge a markup, and Serramonte charges $2k.

Curious which one you talked to? Bellevue and Tacoma/Fife said the same thing, this was back in Aug when I placed my order. Other than they wanted my deposit to get get on the list, and then cars that arrive are matched to my preferences and I'm given the option to buy or wait for the next batch.

AFAIK, Toyota/Lexus has never taken orders, ever. The allocation system is how it's always been. The only difference now is that most allocations are already reserved with deposits far in advance.

According to the Reno dealer they have a mechanism for dealers to input orders but there is no guarantee they will be fulfilled. They said they had the ability to place one or two orders a month (some really tiny number). It doesn’t work like the ordering system with European luxury auto makers.

I noticed that in the Los Angeles area, dealers have many 350h base models with MSRPs over $47,000. There are many options added, which makes them about the same price as 350h premium models that were available earlier in the year. Here is one example that I saw today. https://www.jimfalkbeverlyhillslexus...AKCEZ3P5007221
