In addition to gas mileage, my primary reason for 18 inchers is ride quality, which will get even better once the OEM run flats expire and I replace with regular tires. I also plan to carry a temporary spare when on trips (no need around town) and the 18 will take less trunk space and will be lighter to manage and haul.

On 12/16/22 I contacted Lexus dealer in MN. It was an 8 month wait on NX 350h. I asked about RX 350h and they said 8-12 month wait. So, I started checking neighboring states. I found Cloudburst Gray NX 350h with a handful of options (moon roof, heated steering wheel, power lift gate, tow package) that was allocated and not yet sold from a dealer in Iowa. It just arrived at the dealer today and we are picking it up on Saturday. 6 hour drive.

We have a 2021 RAV4 Prime XSE with PP which the best vehicle I’ve ever owned. Would have liked to get a 450h+, but didn’t want to wait.

We've been on 2 waiting lists to get my wife a Rav4 hybrid for 5 months (and actually on a waiting list to get on a waiting list!) and have been told several inaccurate wait times. I think dealer estimates are BS. Glad we have time to wait.

After deciding on a 2023 NX 350h my wife and I started looking the first week of dec. We wanted the white pearl exterior and the Palomino interior. I emailed around 10 lexus dealers in our state and gave them our color combo. I had two dealers contact us in dec when they got that car in. We negotiated with them but walked away after not getting our price target. Come the first week in january we contacted a dealer who had a car with our combo colors. We negotiated a deal for MSRP + TTT. Wife and I picked up our new Lexus yesterday. We are both very happy.

Some folks will tell you that it’s not possible but I’ve experienced it and I don’t know of any other difference between the two cars and I did it repeatedly I had the loaner for over a week or around week.

you can manipulate the car to get better mileage, but everybody behind you will be screaming at you through their windshield, the 18 inch wheel car was much easier to keep on the battery for much longer

what trim — base, premium, luxury? I’m having a big problem finding luxury in that color combo.

Correct. I was originally looking for the luxury as well. Its seems all the dealers have the premium instead loaded with options. My premium version had most of the options I wanted at least.

Realize this is an odd thing to mention in an NX thread.....

I've been on the wait list for an NX 350h Luxury of any color since Aug. Kept asking if things were getting any better and they are not. Thought about it, checked my budget, and yes while there is a non-trivial cost difference explored the RX 350h Luxury. Turns out they are arriving in greater numbers with fewer missing options due to supply chain. Word from my dealership is Lexus is prioritizing the RX since it's the cash cow. Swapped over my deposit for a Copper/Peppercorn 350h with everything but the Pano camera (the one lingering supply chain issue, but can't get them on the NX presently either). It's being built now, I'll take receipt end of Feb. Could have got one in a couple weeks but was missing an option I wanted. Super excited, and glad I at least have a date now.

How much more over the NX? When I looked, it looked like an almost $10k difference. Is that in the ball park?

Correct. NX Luxury -> RX Luxury was about $10k ($52k vs $62k).

Did you have to pay a markup? Between markup and taxes, I add another $10K to the price, so I felt it was a bit much and decided to keep waiting for the NX. Pre pandemic, my ceiling for a car out-the-door was $50k.

No markup on either car (same dealership), just ~$1k in dealer ads but I would have wanted them anyway. So it was pretty apples to apples in terms of trim level and add ons, so the difference was just the car.

They are actually giving me a good trade in value for my 2016. It basically cost me $14k to drive it for 5 years. So that's helping a lot going from one to the other.

Update: I was given a build window of February 13-19th (Canadian build). Premium package but also digital rearview mirror, Head-up display, Ambient Illumination, Windshield wiper de-icer/fast response interior heater, 14 in Touchscreen, Digital key, heated steering wheel. But SA says they don't know when it's shipped until it gets assigned to transit. I guess the build dates have some elasticity too. What I'm wondering is, assuming it gets built according to schedule--when can I reasonably expect to have the car? Anyone have an idea? Thanks.
