Typical wait time for NX350H
Drove the 350h today and love it. I thought it was quiet, smooth, with just the right mix of familiarity with my 16 RX 450h and new tech. Put the deposit down on the spot. Salesman was vague about wait times. I want the Luxury package so that will slow things down, but I'm flexible on most colors and interiors. Salesman said he had someone on order for a Luxury with a very specific color/interior combo and it's been 8 months. He guestimated at about 6 months.

March 29th -ordered NX350H was told end of June delivery
May 25th -car got delay.
June 29th - TMMC finally accepted my order and production begun on June 29th with an estimated delivery of September 07-17
August 22th - No further update from SA
September 7th- Car delayed new eta 14-24
September 14th- ETA no change
September 16th- Finally got VIN and was shown TMMC status saying being loaded on truck. If all goes well either coming right on September 24 or week of
so your SA might be correct about 6 months. My trim is ultra premium with cloudburst grey and red interior hybrid
I put in a deposit for 350h with the Premium package on March 12 this year, and the vehicle has arrived at a dealer's lot in Calgary yesterday.
Although, I was told by my SA the wait time for 350h today is 10-12 Months.

Depending on where you live but for me, here is my time line in Ontario Canada

My SA said yesterday Lexus is experiencing some part shortages that's preventing them completing builds. Just small, annoying stuff like finish covers for screws, etc. He said it mostly impacted the Canada facility, not the Japan. But he said the past 2-3 weeks they've had a hard time shipping cars. Might explain some of the late-breaking changes in arrival dates. I suppose the good news might be it's a solvable problem and when it does there should be a backlog of cars shipping.
This whole process is very new (ordering and waiting). First time in my life I'm not able to just buy from inventory. I told the SA I was very flexible on color and interior. It occurred to me that this is like sticking $55k into a gum-ball machine and turning the crank and then seeing for the first time what you bought when it pops out.
"Oh look, I got a white one". There are some combos I'd like more than others, but not sure any combo I'd pass on to wait another month or two.

From what I understand, at least in the US, Lexus doesn't take orders from dealers only suggestions on what to build. And because of parts, delays are completely unpredictable. For me 350h, Luxury, Palomino is not negotiable. Exterior color is flexible. But local dealer won't take a deposit until they have an allocation and they want $5k markup if you want to reserve the allocation once available. And they have zero visibility into allocations so I just keep calling them. I think this will only get worse as time goes on because demand far exceeds supply and so the queue (number of people waiting) will grow without bound until supply is addressed (think of all the people coming off leases). But I think there are too many things going on with the economy for supply to get back on track any time soon. I'm actually expecting it to get even worse.
Yeah that's what they told me too - they took down what I want, but they get what they get from Lexus so it's just a process of matching what comes in the door to the list they have. I was only hard-over on the Luxury package but I want all the other extras too. But when Lexus builds a Luxury, they basically put all that other stuff on it by default. Color and interior are all flexible. But there are combos I'd really prefer over others, but I don't think there is a combo I'd outright refuse. Maybe Caviar/black I'd pass on. But just asking for a Luxury is going to be a wait since they mostly build Premiums.
