Default VAIS / ivic model

VAIS apparently just came out with a new system called 'ivic' to integrate with ipod / satellite radio.

I own a 2008 GS 350 non-nav.

Has anyone had this new system installed?

Can it be used on a non-nav system even though I do have the naviagation screen?

Thanks.

iVic model is made to only integrate android or iPod/iPhone depending on which model you buy.

If you are looking for the satellite radio module I believe you are looking for the SL3-SAT module.

i thought pretty much all 07+gs comes with nav. you should check with them but i think you should be able to use the ivic-i (since you said ipod).

and for sat, you will need another unit as aaronqn stated

I have the Android Ivic system. Works great and love it! Although, I recently switched to iPhone, so the touchscreen doesn't work because it can't connect the bluetooth to the iPhone, but the HDMI works great. So I use it like a USB media player.

If you jailbreak your iPhone you can install an app to get the bluetooth feature to work. And also install a jailbreak app to put the iphone into landscape mode. works great with my ipod touch! Have to get used to the touch feature on the module but I also need to recalibrate it as well. I am using the iVic-5D model. Seems like using an Android would be a lot better. There is a lot of steps to take to get the iPhone to work with this module, I might be just buying a Galaxy S3 or S4 just to leave in my car at all times to work with my module.. haha

here's my review of the ivic-i on the gx470 (which is pretty much the same as the 07-09 gs)

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/lex...vic-d-too.html

it's probably one of the most advanced setup in the industry now

Wow nice deal!! I have the iPhone 6+ which already has landscape mode. I just need the Bluetooth to work. I have the 5d also. I've looked into the option of buying the android mini pc stick. Cx-919 I believe. Keep it plugged in and turn the unit into a car Pc. Works great and I load all my music and movies onto it. I also use hotspot from my phone if I want it to be connected to Internet for maps and such. But since I have navigation, I don't do that so much.

This is awesome. When I see stuff like this, it makes me want to slap myself for buying my GS300 5 years ago. I should have got the 350 man.....
