Default Driver's side rear lock

Lately I'm having an issue of my driver's side rear lock not working properly. It started having intermittent problem where it locked, and unlocked sometimes to where now it won't lock or unlock with key fob at all. All of other door locks work expect for the driver's side rear.

I have replaced the actuator with aftermarket one on driver's side rear just now but doing the same thing.

I also noticed that sometimes my auto headlight setting stays on after using key fob to fully lock the car lately. My car never done that before. I assume that they are related issues.

Any input?

Lots of aftermarket locks aren’t really compatible with our cars. Where are you located?

I'm located in Louisiana. When I insert the key in driver side door, it will lock and unlock all doors except for the driver's side rear lock. I also noticed the heat has something has to do with it as well. Weird.

That’s exactly how a bad lock reacts

Whenever I go to a junkyard to pick parts for my car the door lock actuators are always gone.

It sucks but this is normal for these cars after a while. None of mine work anymore. I just take anything a smash n grab thief would want with me or stick it in the trunk with the valet lock activated so no one can pop the trunk without a key.

So I've traced the OEM part # for the actuator. Apparently GS300/400/430, RX300 and 01-03 Prius share the same actuators. I found used 02 Prius actuator for $25 shipped. The cheapest OEM actuator I could find online by typing gs300/400/430 in the search bar, was the used GS400 actuator listed for $80 shipped. Hopefully used Prius unit works for me. I've looked the local junkyards for such cars but no luck.

I'll try it out if Prius one doesn't work. Thanks for the link.

My 03GS3 has the exact same issue. Driver rear door actuator does not work at all. Let us know if those work out. Will be addressing it later.

I'll definitely let you know the result. The cheap BNIB aftermarket actuator did not work so that was sort of a slap in my face. It fitted in there like a glove too! SMH

Update: Used Prius actuator works! Fits perfectly and works flawlessly.
