i remember someone here had this problem before, but i'm now having problems with my rear door lock. at times, the lock would jam, leaving it in the lock position even after pressing the unlock button (on the remote and inside). so i figured, maybe it just got stuck a little or something, so for a few days, if i had the problem, i would just lock, unlock, lock, unlock, lock, unlock from the switch and it would openm. today, i couldn't get the door open at all!!
anyone else had this problem and if so, what did the dealer do to fix it (meaning, did they do a lot of dismantling of the plastics inside)??
If you mean the rear hatch door, then there is a TSB for the lock assembly. Just take it to dealer and have them replace it. They replaced mine because my rear door was squeeking and when they looked at it they said there was a TSB for the door handle/lock assembly and just replaced it. Fixed the squeek and did not mess up any of the trim on the inside. Hope this helps!
There is a TSB on that issue where the locking mechanism would stay in the locked position. It happened twice and the dealership replaced the entire door handle assembly without questions.
mine was the locking mechanism inside. they even said they had an updated one! so i'm guessin they're having quite a few busted door locks on some GX470s......
but it's all good now. good thing they didn't leave any scratches on the sidings. still have to check out for rattles (cuz it's really hot, so the plastics are expanded and the only was to tell for rattles is to drive it in cooler weather in which the plastics won't expand)
