1. get a volt meter and check voltage... back probe the coolant temp sensor and cold should be give or take 4-4.5volts and hot should be around 1-1.5volts
2. get a sanner and hook it up, and see what your temp read... (easiest way imo)
Does the temp gauge read in the middle once the car fully warms up? If the needle stays low, perhaps the thermostat is stuck in the open position and the car cannot warm up.

onces its fully warm it sits in the middle... it doesnt over heat or anything.
