Default Remote Key Question

I was wondering what needed to be done to program a remote key for a 93 gs300 besides the fcc ID matching, does anyone know?
Thanks in advance.

Both my keys' alarm button don't work. After ruling out the battery, I asked the Lexus dealer if I can get a new transmitter. They told me the key is only one part and there is some sort of chip installed in the car that is paired with the key. I don't know if it's reprogrammable. All the programming instructions I see on the internet are for later model cars to do that lock/unlock 5 times routine which doesn't work on my '93 GS.

Recently mine started to screw up. It locks just fine, but when you try to unlock, the car keeps relocking the car over and over again. Push the button again and it stops. Tried reseting the battery, tried the method above, neither work.

Well that sucks, I really don't want to pay 300+ for a new key.

You should be able to buy the battery anywhere.

Did you ever find a result for this issue? I have a 94 GS and am needing to reprogram mine as well. Thanks.

No unfortunately without the complete key and receiver module it won't work. It cost too much so I bought an aftermarket alarm to lock and unlock the doors.

Were you ever able to reprogram your key to your 93 GS? I have a 94 GS with the original one button key remote and the battery in it died so I replaced it but now it won't work. I'm thinking it needs reprogramming. What did you wind up doing?
