. Just changed the Air filter on it last weekend, checked the oil and coolant levels. Probably change the oil in May or June

Out of curiosity I looked up the Tesla extended warranty, looks like it doesn’t cover the battery or drivetrain and also doesn’t cover if fluids have been changed outside of a Tesla service center.

Was curious so I looked up some component prices for the RAV4 Prime
Engine long block: $14,500
Battery pack: $4,500 per module x4
Toyota does not sell the complete battery pack so it would have to be disassembled if that's even possible. Tesla does not sell their battery packs to 3rd parties and the price is not clear best I can find is on the Model Y $15,000-$20,000.

Is this the battery pack you looked up?

happened to be shopping for some filters while reading this thread and decided to look it up
no issues with my ioniq 5 either, nearly 6k mi.
you don't know how huge, because you can't base it on what's happened in the past when ev's were the new, new thing.
wrong again unless it's a lucid air or something.
i met a guy who bought a 2013 model s for $19k (so 11 years now) and he said the car has been perfect.
and yet you drive one that's old, presumably it's just fine.
you're forgetting the govt part of things, plus strong possibility of global disruption of oil supply. on govt side, there's a reason gas costs 2x as much in europe for example. i predict the u.s. will strongly up the gasoline taxes to encourage people to go ev, or they will tax oil companies or reduce subsidies (same thing), all of which will up the price.
excellent deal!
yeah can't understand that, they must make something regardless.
But since the volume for those cars is low,
A third party company is now offering extended warranties in Canada and it's not prohibitively expensive. It's under $3k CAD. Reviews seem to be good and coverage is decent - Battery, Air suspension, MCU and DU's. Those are the big ticket items and are covered.
... $2900 CAD for 5 years of unlimited km's
... $2900 CAD for 5 years of unlimited km's
In addition it is transferable to the next owner as long as it is a private sale. What really makes it a no brainer is - "if at the end of the warranty period :
You are still the owner
Made no claims under the warranty
You get your money back (less the tax).

Not that it matters battery failure is rare you'll have an engine or transmission go first IMO.
edit - lol Canada

I wouldn't call Tesla issue free. One of the current quality/technical issues is auto wipers when in FSD/Autopilot. They could go banana when no rain or dead silent during heavy rain. Another one is phantom braking. Small stuffs like black screen, rattling, unable to locate/unlock car are not uncommon either. They have less things to go wrong but I wouldn't call trouble free. A friend of my friend's less than one year old had to have its AC system replaced. That must suck.
Absolutely, Tesla's are not issue free, although in almost a year and 12K miles, I haven't had any problems

It’s still fine for others to respond with their own experiences…
My ask is there are a lot of “challenges” and “proof” requirements asked of other members that aren’t really needed I’m working to try and reduce the level of contentiousness here in the EV forum, appreciate your help in doing that. (and everyone else as well).
