does your BMW not give you that option? Lexus does, I just push the display button and then I have a screen off option.

I agree, unfortunately automotive journalist trashed and drug it through the mud. RTI, But I love it so much better than a greasy fingerprint laden touchscreen.

But oh I know how you are with your climate control.
I just leave mine on auto and adjust the temperature. AC dehumidifies the air.

Yep. Helpful when it’s cooler to keep the windows clear.

I’m a staunch, defend-to-the-grave “auto” user. I may change the temp 2-3 degrees from 70ish either up or down, but that’s it. Let it do its thing.

I like to keep my displays on auto brightness so they dim and change to darker colors at night. But I always leave my screen on.

New QX has ttV6. I believe the only full size, big BOF SUV you can get with a proper V8 is GM now.

Nice increases over the current QX. +50 hp and +102 ft lbs. Should appeal to potential buyers.

The outgoing QX is not quick on any level, this should be an upgrade.

So I went out digging through the menus, and you can in fact turn it off in the BMW. This will be handy for long night-time drives. My F-150 does not have this option.

Like Steve, I also enjoy the ambient lighting in my car. I drive around with it on all the time. Sometimes I dim it or turn it off on long drives at night, however.

can the main screen be switched off?

Does it have a night mode? That map looks blinding in the dark.

It looks brighter in the picture because of the exposure of the camera, in person its not blinding at all, but yes everything can be turned off. I never turn any of it off.

That's one thing I really like about my cars, the screen can be completely banished into the dash.

Doesn't your gen retract every shutoff? Have you ever had any problems with the screen motors? That's neat, I've always thought that.
