Interestingly the power delivery is very EV like lmao with the way it constantly upshifts early at around 2k. You feel nothing, just linear acceleration and you just hear it unlike in an EV. But trust me you feel absolutely nothing NVH wise from the engine.
I think the 430 has great torque. Interestingly the power delivery is very EV like lmao with the way it constantly upshifts early at around 2k. You feel nothing, just linear acceleration and you just hear it unlike in an EV. But trust me you feel absolutely nothing NVH wise from the engine.
under gentle driving maybe, but unlike an EV when you keep your foot in it the power builds and builds in such a lovely progressive way... from 3500 rpm and onwards you're easily passing the majority of traffic
actually here's a nice chart clearly outlining the differences the 1998 upgrades made, and why earlier iterations of the 1UZ did feel more sluggish at lower rpms
the 3UZ torque curve is almost identical to the 1998 1UZ, albeit shifted slightly even further to the left

Oh the torque curve is lovely. LS430 doesn't need to go above 2100 RPM, and it still stays with/ahead of traffic.
LOL, thought the same. I've had an LS400, LS430, and LS460 and now a Tesla. There is no similarity in the acceleration feel from any LS over to an EV. Conversely, there is no similarity in the Tesla ride to the LS ride.

I actually wish you could start it in second gear, like the MB if you choose.
It's cool to start off in second gear and then have just that one gear up until 75MPH if you get on it.
i forget if snow mode starts in 2nd or if it only affects the pedal sensitivity... actually speaking of 2nd i wish it would hold the gear longer! even on ect pwr the trans just can't wait to get into 3rd
in the E-class manual it actually says don't use 2nd gear starts until the car has a few hundred miles on it
Put it in SNW mode or have the car tuned to refuse upshifts more like a modern car does when you are on it more heavily.
one of the little AMG 'tweaks' that's specific to the 55 model is the factoring of steering angle within the transmission software! when you're turning it'll hold the gear so there's no interruption before you've straightened out and are ready to hit the gas again
These old CLKs must be tanks, I see tonnnns of these, more convertibles than coupes. And look, the owner sprung for the V8!!!
my neighbor who just passed in his 90s drove a convertible clk430 forever. must have had a ton of miles on it. he loved that thing. he went to the gym every day. white with blue roof.
Saw an old XLR. They were popular at one time.
there were never popular. sold like death. i test drove one once at a lexus event. one of the most disappointing driving experiences ever although it did handle flat due to it's magnetic dampers.

I can't believe the stock wheel gap lol.
looks GREAT. since the car was black i couldn't really see wheel gap but didn't look bad to me.

Then this morning I was running late but on empty and couldn't stop on my way out which meant I had to gas up in Bethesda where gas is 50c a gallon more than where I live. So, by trying to save 20c on the one gallon of gas I would have spent driving to the party and back I cost myself about $14!
haha, great confession. i know it's a game/habit for you, but it's really a waste of your time.
i don't remember the last time i went to a gas station.

i've driven tesla, mercedes, and hyundai electric vehicles. while they're all fast with silent electric motors, they all very different.

White with blue roof. A strange but absolute necessity combo for elderly FL drivers! If you live here, you know!
