Do you guys think I’m wrong here? Genuinely curious. I am getting crapped all over on by mostly people overseas. The worst thing you can do is let these sit.

If stored properly it's generally fine, what you DON'T want to do is only start it for a short time. You need to hit full oil temp and get everything else hot or you will gradually have fuel delusion occur etc.....
If I wake something up from storage it goes for an hour trip or a V-max run lol!

Yep. Let everything get hot. Let the belts and access run, etc. Me, like I say on that FB post I go through about a tank of gas a month in the winter. And I cycle the top a lot. We’re coming up on a year of ownership and it’s been very reliable. Motor mounts which are a wear item and they had to take a part underneath and clean and remount it because it was creaking. That’s it. 22 year old car.
I've never lived in areas with road salt(at least not since i started driving as a teenager), so the idea of seasonal cars has always been a foreign concept to me. I've generally only owned one vehicle at a time and it gets driven anywhere anytime. I haven't changed that now, other than obviously the truck will get used exclusively when there's a need for 4WD.
I make sure to drive both every week. Been favoring the bimmer lately because it's new to me, but i enjoy driving both.

Yeah, they "treat" the roads before it's supposed to do anything (it never really does) and they're dry so no biggie. They'll bust out the salt if it does snow here. We get a "good snow" (anything over 3-4 inches) once every 7-15 years or so. Then it's LX570 time lol.
I just wouldn't know because I don't live up north, but rust is a real thing up there. I see rusted out cars all the time when I'm up with my in-laws.
Just make sure you flush the undercarriage well and you won't have issues with rust...when its freezing out the salt is inert, the issue is when it warms up.

my non car friends will sometimes give me crap for thinking like this... hey jake can we go here for dinner? is it a far enough drive for your car? (said with an insincere tone and a smirk)
in fairness i'll go a bit overboard with the refusing to take short trips (always opting for the E-scooter if i can) but it's ok since i know my cars are ones that are worth trying to preserve as long as possible and would thank me for it if they could lol... also if possible i'll always try to take the more chill and highway biased route even if it means going slightly out of the way lol, i'd rather drive an hour at 60 mph than 45 min at 30 mph
Lexus absolutely was Tier 1 back to our debate. This car blew everyone away, and was wholly competitive with the current 5 Series and E Class, better even in some ways. Listen to that UZ V8 scream, yummmm.
^^^ yeah i know, i had one.
2000 gs400 with the touchscreen nav... it was way ahead of anything similar, although the handling was very soft. i upgraded the suspension (a lot) and got obsessed with mods and loved the car.
