Honestly, it's the friggin trolling and hate for EV's that just makes it unbearable to participate and I notice when that happens the thread gets closed.

Thanks! These are actually INDIVID wheels and my brother is the designer and manufacturer. He had worked for HRE and I did have HREs on it at one point. 19" 44R, but that was before paint and body kit.

The car was Midnight Indigo originally and I went with Indigo Ink Pearl for the repaint. 8P4. It's a factory color on first gen IS cars and SC430s. If you can spray a factory color that looks custom, do it. It's easier to match if something bad happens.

 

Not a good idea at all imo, especially given the transformation so many brands will be going under in the next 1-3 years.

 

I have a mixed feeling about this. IMO it's nice to talk about EVs here because they are both transportations. But having its own sub, people won't need to see things they're not interested.

 

agree 100%. and why isn't car chat being renamed then to ICE chat. or "Car but no, no, no EV Chat!"

 

Probably because it also includes a lot of hybrids....and, occasionally, some motorcycles.

 

few threads get closed and mostly for going off topic, not because of trolling/hate. those that do that get booted from the thread, or i got booted from the hyundai recall thread because of ... things. but it wasn't closed.

i 100% disagree. forums are lively by having DISAGREEMENTS, not echo chambers. sure people should be respectful and not trolling.

but a lot of what happens here is some people just don't like change. you at least have a great sense of humor and politeness and are also OPEN to saying "maybe there's something to what i'm not familiar with"! but no, we have to create a new segregated sandbox so users with different perspectives don't interact.

 

I've come around on EVs, to be fair. I still don't want to buy one but would a Plaid be cool to drive around town? Duuurrrrrr.

 

I'd come around on an EV if and when they release an affordable Accord or Camry with 500+ miles of range that doesn't take an hour to recharge.

 

"come around" doesn't mean I'll ever buy one. But I see why certain people like them.

I see it's hard to stay laser target on topic, maybe impossible to be perfect, I don't know.

However, trolling hate and disappointment of EV's in almost every EV thread VERY often runs the thread off topic in my observation -over and over and over repeatedly. lol

Now we're talking about grid overload, etc, etc, etc..... Rinse and repeat. lol

Uh... I think that applies to most people including me too. lol
However, nobody should be obligated to see threads -whether EV or ICE- if they have no interest in. Just IMO

Add- if someone WANTS talk about EV's they can voluntarily go to EV chat by their choice to be there.

Gosh I don't know ya'll, we all may have different feelings on this so that's all I have,.

I don't have the answers, just ideas, and all I say here in this thread.
