lol what the heck? I thought the 2021 Sport had a V6. I only rode in it once as a passanger so I guess I mustve forgot. But dang I thought they had a V6. Man they are rally skimping out on the engines.
How are they skimping out? Compare the power figures of the last V6 the Accord offered vs. the 2.0T they just dropped. Better power and more efficiency from the 2.0T.

Yeah... the V-6 was good and all, but I feel like the 2.0 turbo probably makes more sense for the kind of vehicle the Accord is and is definitely helping Honda meet their emissions compliance numbers compared to a V-6.
See, this is why I got my IS 500. The equivalent will probably have a six-cylinder turbo or perhaps even a four-cylinder turbo with a hybrid setup in the future.

Yeah, I don't think you're wrong, but it's all about feel and refinement. And you know that if you bought an IS500. I'm sure the Honda 2.0t was one of the more decent 2.0s but J-Series Honda SOHC V6 VTEC is legendary, much better than "good and all". I owned one with a 6 speed and it was a monster, absolute beast. The VTEC was amazing, especially with the way that V6 sounded to begin with. I could not care less that it was half a second slower to 60 than the newer 4cyl that was faster. It got 32 MPG fwiw.

Jealous, and yes you are absolutely right. I would keep it FOREVER and try to keep miles relatively low if I had one.

I am already failing at keeping the miles low. I'm at a little over 700 in less than 3 weeks. But I didn't buy this car to flip it. I think we should try to enjoy cars like this while they are around. I know the mileage will slow down over time, anyways... I am still in the honeymoon phase with it and want to find excuses to drive it all the time.
Agree, on the VTEC part. Even the new Pilot with its brand-new V-6 no longer has VTEC, and Honda has pumped in fake engine noise to compensate. Whee.

Well bro it's a Lexus it ain't like it'll ever break. It's not a delicate car. I would LOVE an IS500 and we had a nice IS years back but too small for our lifestyle etc. Great little car though.
And yep VTEC is gone....why? Fuel economy. However at least it's a V6, but it must not sound good if they're piping fake sound into the speakers. Honda V6s used to sound absolutely amazing.
According to the C&D article on the '23 Accord, the "take rate" (they used those exact words) for the 2.0 was very low, which led to its demise. This meshes with what you are seeing.
Yep, makes perfect sense.

Has to be a photoshop. It's somewhere where there's snow on the ground, and it still has all of its body panels.
Seriously I saw more rusted and clapped-out Trackers than clean ones, while the Tracker was still in production. And that model ended production over 30 years ago. That one is exceptionally well preserved.

Hah. Not a photoshop. You really think I have those skills
I dunno, a friend of mine had one, and I drove it once. Absolutely miserable. I've never driven a vehicle where I had to suspend my entire leg in mid-air so I could step DOWN vertically on the accelerator pedal. My leg hurt so bad after a 15 minute drive.
