You don't have red light cameras? I bet you do and you just don't realize it.

We did in a few areas, people shot them/cut them down or had the local ordinances changed. It's only in columbus proper that we have them in some areas.

Theres no record of these types of things, its just a money grab. I'm all for standing on principle, but $75 isn't worth the hassle of showing up in court, etc.
Someone had told me that you can contest those tix without going to court? Maybe by Zoom?

Or a robo lawyer, that's usually enough to get them to drop it

I totally get why he doesn’t want to deal with it and I wouldn’t either but it’s the principle! He didn’t do it!

F that. There should be an appeals process or some sort of recourse for him.

Nope, have to go to court. Now, the court hearing might be virtual, that would be a COVID thing.

I can think of one (possible) explanation for what happened.....although I wouldn't bet the farm on it. Some guy ran the light in front of you while you were coming to a stop, the system, for some reason didn't react fast enough (it usually reacts at the electronic speed of light), and, by the time the camera took the shot, the guy was far enough ahead of the intersection, out of the camera's view, that the camera got your stopped vehicle instead. The judge might (?) actually listen, for you were obviously not in the intersection when the camera went off.

As you say, definitely a better image on-line. Perhaps I spoke a little too soon about them using junk-cameras....but they are still junk if they aren't reacting properly.

So, this is a situation of the picture that came with the ticket just not doing a good job of showing me what happened. I deserve the ticket. I rolled through the red making the right hand turn. Its just that the picture that came with the ticket is only of my car at the line, with no data, speed or anything like that which doesn't tell anybody anything. When you go to the website...there's a video

No argument there lol

Yeah good point, we have a retainer active that doesn't cost any extra to use that service/simple stuff so I abuse the hell out of it.

Agreed. I based my previous comments on the condition that you actually were stopped. And, although you and I have had our disagreements, I commend a person with honesty.....Thank you.

Yeah and looking at that picture, sure looks like I'm stopped...why wouldn't they have a picture of the car in the intersection?

So, on the one hand, people may not realize what the tolls are when they don't pay cash; but on the other hand, they try and "encourage" you to use EZ Pass by charging a lot more without it.

Whoa, check out this interesting green BMW M6 I saw at the car wash. It looked awesome in person and appeared to have the baseball glove color interior. Really cool color, never seen anything like it.
