I got home from the Pocanos to a automated traffic enforcement camera saying I had run a red light. The picture of my car is of it stopped before the line at the red light lol
Frustrating thing is at $75 for the fine its not worth the hassle to fight with them

Because the camera doesn't know who is driving, there are no points on your driving record, and your insurance company is not notified, so your premiums won't go top because of it. VA gives you a little more of a break.....$50 fine instead of $75.

I always say, if they're going to charge me $75 for a picture of the back of my car, at least make it a good picture lol.
Theres no record of these types of things, its just a money grab. I'm all for standing on principle, but $75 isn't worth the hassle of showing up in court, etc.

Where is that intersection located? If that is in Montgomery County, the County (or the State) probably doesn't have much excuse for using a crap-quality camera like that one of the nation's richest counties LOL. The ones in Fairfax County, VA just across the river, give a much better picture than that.
I would consider contesting the fine, though, if you can show that the camera was not working properly and did not note that you were stopped.....we know already, from the image, that it is not of the best quality. It will teach the state authorities not to use junk equipment for traffic-enforcement purposes.
Up to you, of course, but who knows? If you can show the judge that the state was using a crap-camera, he or she just might (?) not only drop the fine, but also award you re-imbursement for taking time off work to go to court in the first place. Of course, if you DO go to court, you are also basically admitting that you were behind the wheel.

I don't have a problem with red light cameras, running red lights is a major problem...but when they send tickets to people who are stopped at the light its a little problematic lol
It's definitely a big thing in NY. I see people damaging their plates or using plate flippers very frequently to evade tolls and speed cameras.

Well if you don't break the law you wouldn't know. I only found out due to customers that these even exist at all, fixed a hotshot drivers van and asked him why the plate bracket has a wire.....he then showed me!

It's fleecing. Stuff like that doesn't fly around here since the last few times they tried to set them up people took them down/out
