These are going to make great car bombs once people figure out that it's impossible to put out the fire and how easy it will be to remote control them in a few years. I think we will see an interesting series of events leading to cars becoming self drive only due to this...
No I don't typically like to experiment with things that'll cause me to get burnt. Lol.

I'm sure it'll happen. At least something like that will. Be the world's greatest car toy.

Hey man I am still using an iPhone 6s, it needed it! Maybe one day I'll activate my 12 that I have had sitting around...problem is for what I need a phone to do the 6 still works perfectly.

Do I really have to be so specific to address every condition?

Need to stop the personal comments and callouts. If you don’t care for someone’s posts put them on ignore.

An AWD car can still be FWD in design. RX, NX, UX, ES are all FWD design vehicles is his point. Almost all of Lexus' sales are those vehicles.

The only Lexus models that are RWD in design are the IS, LS, LC and then the big SUVs like the GX and LX.

When you look at a carmaker like say, Mercedes or BMW the vast vast majority of their offerings are RWD design vehicles, while companies like Lexus and Acura are almost all FWD vehicles.

You missed one, the RC is RWD in design.

True, I did miss the RC, doesn’t change the outcome though.

What outcome is that? Someone said nearly 100% of Lexus models are FWD. Clearly, it's more like 40% based on which models are FWD/RWD in design. The fact that most Lexus sold are FWD have more to do with being cheaper to purchase than the actual drivetrain.

The issue is, right now SUVs are most relevant, and Lexus does not have RWD based SUVs except for the archaic LX/GX.

You ignore how many FWD Lexus vehicles are sold vs RWD. 80% of Lexus sales are FWD cars, and the RWD cars have been left for 10+ years with no new development. Lexus clearly is focused on less expensive FWD models.

Lexus just flat doesnt compete in many segments because of this.

Lexus sees the writing on the wall...they have shifted all R&D efforts to BEV and other hybrid platforms to adapt to the market. They are just leveraging all the best of the old tech and in harvest mode now until the new platforms arrive (which is a smart decision). Most people that want sport don't really look to Lexus/Toyota anymore. The brand caters more to FWD, super reliable appliances (nothing wrong with that).

But I'm not sure what your point is. There is just no question that Lexus focuses far more on inexpensive FWD layout vehicles that true top tier luxury carmakers like BMW and Mercedes...even Audi.

And it is killing them.....that's a surefire way to move down-market just like Lexus has for the last 10 years. Sad since at one point they contended very very well with the big 3
