plaid in white and 21's is $134,500, so $15k more than eqs 580.
A base EQS580. Thats the point, we're comparing the AMG version to the Plaid, it will be considerably more expensive than the Plaid, likely. The AMG EQE is going to be likely similar in cost to an EQS580.
Also overweight, no fast charging, and not even a heat pump.
Out of curiosity I checked the electric G80 that I recall some claiming would have more drawbacks than the EQE since it's based on an existing ICE platform, and even though its battery is almost the same size (87 kWh vs 91) the car weighs 500 pounds less than the dual motor EQE.

It the quilted leather, the 3000 lighting modes and and solid as a bank vault sound you get from the doors shutting that explains the weight difference. 😉

i like the g80 a lot, but comparing the e version to this eqe is a joke.
does the g80 offer any of:
air suspension
hyperscreen like setup
massaging seats
?
also, the electric g80 isn't available in the u.s. right? i'd say there's a reason for that (it won't sell).

Notice how none of those have anything to do with the EV aspect of the EQE? Notice how all of them barring the Hyperscreen can be had in a basic E-Class? Kind of sucks when the "selling points" of your EV are the aspects that have nothing to do with it being an EV- like missing a heat pump.
And yes, the G80 does offer a massaging seat for the driver. Air suspension will inevitably come in a year or two, pilfered from the G90. And the Hyperscreen... lol.
There is one thing worth noting that the EQE offers that the electric G80 doesn't, and that is the rear wheel steer. But considering the super long wheelbase it needs that rear steer just to match the turning radius of the G80.

At this point it is a very real possibility that the EQE may actually have worse EPA range than the G80. When that happens I'll be here to gloat again.
So now we have an explanation as to why the EQE is so overweight, @6:29 in Thomas's video. Because it's built alongside the C-Class (lol) it uses more steel than the mostly-aluminum EQS which is built alongside the S-Class.

Hard to believe the EQE looks better than the G80. That said, G80 looks great at a the Genesis boutique…. But on the road it’s looks too much like a Hyundai. Looks small on the road. I don’t feel the same way for the GV80. Lexus NX suffers from this where it looks good at the dealer by blah on the road with other designs
LOL
...
lol.

keep laughing, and i'll gladly point out when the eqe outsells the electric G80 10:1.
again, i LIKE the g80, it's a very nice design, although with the speed of change in this industry, it already feels dated to me, kind of like a great refinement of traditional sport sedans of old (audi, bmw, etc.), which isn't surprising given the designers at genesis came from those places! and have now been fired, i think?

that's because you generally have a conservative point of view on designs, tending to like 'establishment' designs (LS460, W222) and not new radical designs (at least initially), nothing wrong with that. although strangely you like the inverted bathtub lucid air.

Even if the EQE outsells the G80 10:1 (which I highly doubt considering the EQE's main target is China and battery supply is limited), the Tesla Model S will outsell the EQE by the same ratio. It's a never-ending game if sales is an excuse for mediocrity.
The matter of fact is that the EQE's ugliness has given it no benefit whatsoever over a basic converted ICE platform car like the G80. It's a pointless design exercise rushed to the market and is humiliated by cars a fraction of its price (and weight lol).

No, I like cars that are attractive and dislike cars that are ugly lol
