Yeah, well, according to musk we were supposed to have millions of robotaxis back in 2019, lol, so I'll just continue mocking this nonsense until "it gets there".

This is just how people like Musk are, but he's moving technology forward clearly.
Unfortunately a lot of folks have blinders on and can't see this. Hating is easier and more comprehensible.
I think some of the hate is jealousy. I actually like him and like how he isn’t afraid to try new things. The only thing I don’t like is how he can do/say whatever he wants and his cult followers and others just say, that’s just Elon. If any other executive made the promises he has made and didn’t live up to them they would get so much more hate or even be fired. Elon just gets a free pass.

I think the difference is other companies issue press releases saying they will do X and Y, Elon simply tweets or says his plans out loud. So when things don't go as planned Elon is directly blamed. Take a look at the promises Ford, Toyota, GM and others have made about their electric vehicle plans. None have come true. Did they lie? Maybe, maybe not but the CEO doesn't get blamed. Most people have no idea who runs GM or Ford etc. they only see a giant corporation.
A great example is vehicle fires. GM has tried 3 times to fix their battery fires via recall, still not fixed. Who gets blamed? No one, it's just a thing that happened. Tesla has a fire Musk is directly blamed, people say he is reckless doesn't care about safety, is killing people, irresponsible.

Great post.

the fact that you refer to the ceo of tesla by his first name shows the 'cult of personality' involved. I know many love to equate tesla with him, but that negates the hard work of thousands of others.

like what? And if they don't that's the price for having a personality heading a corporation that some love and some don't.

Well that's not an example of a 'lie' as you stated. It just means the recall didn't in fact fix the problem.

He makes all the announcements, all the tweets, and so many of his statements aren't true, or don't come true, that it's hard to take hardly any of what he says seriously, while not doubting that the guy is super talented, and tesla IS being innovative and making progress. But no way does it meet his claims and promises.

A cynical, largely hateful way of looking at Elon Musk. Admiring someone for their technical prowess, persistence, general knowledge, worth ethic and more doesn't make me a cult member. Well to you it does.
Also I'd like to know what you are trying to accomplish by calling people cultists. Does that make you feel better about yourself?
Its no secret that Tesla hires "fluffers" to promote their hype on social media and automotive forums. These deranged individuals often go as far as to resort to death threats to anyone who dares to criticize their idol, lol. Their twisted logic is a great source of comedy.
