Not when all of the cars are following the limit...in fact, it will potentially be a lot safer. But, as other posters have noted, that will not happen overnight.....it will take some time.

LOL, just watch this from 1:45 to 2:00 - it literally can't see a solid CMU wall and wants to drive into it. Pure comedy.

I didn't watch all of that, but not surprised it doesn't do well in a cramped underground parking lot with plain walls! Around 5:15 he describes it as insanely impressive several times and you can see it makes a lot of impressive driving maneuvers in a pretty busy urban setting.

Lutz still gets a lot of interviews in the car business. He's retired, but not dead yet. And how many other auto journalists can excel as a fighter pilot? He flew F-4 Phantoms in the Marine Corps, off aircraft carriers....and today flies his own private jets.

He has like 700 subs. Lol.

FSD isn't worth buying. It's a science project that rich people can purchase for ****s and giggles. Take rate on it is very small. Elon even said the value proposition isn't there yet but those that want it and evolve with it can pay the $10k admission fee. To be fair, it was half that when I bought my car and the take rate was higher then.

autopilot is sufficient for most needs and is an excellent highway assist technology and free. Most people don't buy Tesla for self drive...they buy it because the cars are faaaast or they are economical or green.

Nobody cares what Bob Lutz thinks, and most people have no idea who he even is lol.

What does the fact that he is a pilot have to do with cars? Nothing.

While not always the case, those who have a fine tactile sense of aircraft control, in three dimensions, often are also competent in auto design, which deals with only two dimensions,

Bob Lutz never designed a car in his life. He was a business executive. The fact that he can fly a plane gives him no insight into self driving cars.

And last time I checked, cars were three dimensional objects.

The bottom line is, Elon Musk knows WAY more about self driving cars than Bob Lutz.

Exactly lol

Lutz is just a relic from another era who has no practical experience to offer on the subject of advanced modern cars
