Depends, a lot of places don't pursue past two exits or if they clock you over 150. A lot of street packs and race guys run very easily due to those rules

In one sense, I see nothing impressive about it. IMO, we have a potentially very dangerous situation when factory/street-legal cars can outrun both police cars and aircraft. People who own them will think they are invincible, and can get away with anything because the police won't be able to catch them. It is frightening to contemplate.

Nothing is faster than a radio ;-).

Cop cars were slower than hell until the Crown Vic was retired and then V8 Chargers and EB Fords started to take over. I'm talking like 8 seconds, maybe a smidge more 0-60 on those old CV PIs. My old GMC Yukon is roughly that, maybe a tad slower.

Still, police loved the CVs. Huge, comfortable, indestructible, BOF. Easy and cheap for the departments to service.

You aren't going to outrun many cops wth a Pacifica LOL. You might, in some cases, with an S560......a better chance with an AMG.

Seriously, though, all joking aside, the thought of criminals with mega-powered vehicles, at least IMO, is not very reassuring. I can definitely think of better scenarios I'd prefer seeing.

I don't disagree. The good news is most criminals won't be able to afford a Tesla Model S Plaid!

Yes, that's the standard answer that a lot of cops give (I've heard it more than once), but even radios are only of limited usefulness under conditions where criminals and high-powered vehicles can dart away and go almost anywhere.

You are right on the button about the police/taxi-love for the Crown Vic and Chevy Caprice....although, no, they would not keep up with a Hemi-Powered Charger.

Anyhow, back to topic, I just wonder how much electrical-draw that 9-second 0-60 time consumes, and how often a Model S Plaid has to be recharged? That kind of power is not going to come without a price.
